Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Benton.
Hi Angela, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia. After graduating from Westlake High School and attending college, I became an elementary school teacher. My passion for teaching and educating students carried me through a 27 years career in the field of education. I retired in 2021, but still continued to have a passion for teaching. I believe once an educator, always an educator. With that in mind, I decided to write my first children’s book. “Where in the World is Enzo? Enzo Goes to Savannah, Georgia” tells of an adventure a family takes to Savannah, Georgia. The book tells of the discoveries and memories the family makes, all being told from the perspective of the family dog Enzo. It is my belief that families should spend time together. That time should be spent learning, making new discoveries and making memories.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has the road been smooth? I would have to say there are challenges that we all face when we are trying to accomplish a goal. The key is to keep going in spite of those challenges. When you know you have a call on your life, you know you have a job to do, a mission to accomplish, you push on to get the job done.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As a lifelong educator, I believe that it takes three parties to be fully committed to ensure educational success. Those three parties are the parents, teachers and students. To The Core LLC works to help build and foster those relationships. Its goal is to make certain education is able to reach its fullest potential. Additionally, I have written a handbook for parents that will help them navigate the educational system. “No Superhero Needed” by: K.F.Benton (my pen name) was written to help parents and teachers fuse together to ensure students get a good education. With my two books and workshops, I provide to parents, it is my goal to continue to make my mark on education.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
That is a great question. I define success by did you accomplish the goal you set for yourself. I also look at it from the perspective of was I able to help someone become a better version of themselves? If I was able to help someone better themselves, then I have made a positive impact on the world. Now, for me….that’s success!
