Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Zellander.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My journey began in May 2022. That is when my desire to start a fragrance business began. I’ve always loved smell goods. However, my business was originally going to be a candle business. I joined a few candle-making groups on Facebook to get tips and inspiration, but I began to see different products that people were making. Then I thought to myself, “Why just stop at candles? There are so many possibilities of products that I can do with fragrances.” So, I decided to expand and make other products besides candles. I also decided to start with body sprays instead of candles. Through trial and error, I finally perfected my body spray recipe. I had created a spray that not only had a long-lasting aroma, but it was also moisturizing for the skin. I launched Delightful Scents by Des on July 22, 2022. Since then, I have created 8 male fragrances and 3 male fragrances, which are available in body spray and roll on perfume. I have plan to release more products this year and I’m very excited for what is to come!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t necessarily been easy. The main thing I struggled with in the beginning was getting my sprays to last longer. I didn’t want something that was only going to last for an hour or two and then wear off. I wanted my sprays to last all day. After some tweaking to my recipe, I finally was able to create a spray that was long-lasting! Another thing I struggled with was the strength of the smell. I probably drove my husband crazy with constantly asking him to smell me. It took some trial and error, but finally I was able to create a spray that was smelled amazing, noticeable, and long-lasting!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Delightful Scents by Des is all about fragrances. Everybody wants to smell good. Everybody wants their homes to smell good. So, Delightful Scents by Des is here to provide all your fragrance needs. Currently, I have a total of 11 fragrances; 8 female and 3 male. All of my fragrances are available in body spray and roll-on perfume. With each purchase, you get a free sample spray of your choice. I have many more products that I plan to create and I can’t wait to release them. Making my products is something that I have truly fallen in love with. I’m truly amazed and thankful to God for how far I have come.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in luck. The favor and blessings of God are what have brought me to where I am. I’m very excited for what He has in store for Delightful Scents by Des. There are no limits!
