Rising Stars: Meet Meredith Hope of Rhythma Studios of Castleberry Hill

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith Hope of Rhythma Studios.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well, it’s quite the transition many would not have expected. I knew early on I wasn’t going to be on the standard college route, and as soon as I finished high school with high scores, I was offered the adventure of the military and went with it. It was good for me. It was a great five year experience which really enhanced my growth. They taught me the discipline necessary to get the job done, and they also sent me to Chinese language school. I continue to use my language skills today, having picked up Spanish along the way and even eventually graduated college.

After the military, I worked in corporate America in the automobile industry. I learned finance and became the Head of Finance & Insurance for a large dealership in Washington DC. I did this for 10 years, did well, and was able to put away a little bit of savings.

Now, to the fun part, what all this disciplined knowledge was preparing me for. All while working in the automotive business, I established Hip Hop and Contemporary Dance troops and created shows in DC. Then, creativity called my soul. I eventually decided to “Run Away with the Circus” after meeting and being inspired by a Cirque-Du-Soliel Performer on tour and eventually moved to Atlanta.

And here I am, ten years later, and I own the circus and the circus school. I am now pursuing my passions and sharing my vision with so many others I have come to call family. Helping others find their art and becoming successful is truly fulfilling and mutually beneficial! Who knew all that military and finance experience would be applied in the most fun way possible!

All of this led me to be an Entertainment Agent for all of the various disciplines. As a result, we own our own costume workshop, with thousands of costumes and have found a way to play dress of for a living. We have many unique offerings; 15 ft. Tree Stiltwalker, Centaur Stiltwalker, LED Snowglobes, Mirrored Costumes, LED Glow Costumes & Props and our shop can create custom costumes and art installations for our customer’s needs. Then…the goal…teaching arts with the overall objective of the artist understanding that this is, and can be, a viable business and they can make a living but must learn business ethics.

Show up, On Time, Focus on Results, No Excuses. Perform.

Sounds amazing! How can Atlanta get involved?
Rhythma Studios – Circus & Dance Studio

Our downtown studio, Rhythma Studios, began over a decade ago and is a stable home of the world’s greatest dancers in the Hip Hop industry, offering Heels, Afro Fusion, Contemporary, and everything under the sun.

Ryhthma also has a unique approach to teaching Circus Arts. We find that unstructured sessions in combination with traditional structured classes, produce unparalleled growth. It’s inspiring to see an Open Skill Share session, where you might see jugglers in one corner, aerialists practicing in another all while having hula hoopers in front of the mirrors.

We not only offer a full host of Classes, Workshops, and Open Jams on a weekly basis to keep our students flourishing, but also we have an Artist Development Program for those who really want to take their creative careers to the next level working one on one with decade strong industry veterans of all skillsets. We will build your brand, train you in the business side, and also, bring private instructors to choreograph your acts, create your media kit, and shine you up like a diamond!

Which of course, all leads to Endless Entertainment, our thriving entertainment agency offering every performance you can possibly imagine. Not to mention, the most jaw dropping prop and costume collections.

With so much creative expression, our heart is bursting to create, play, train, learn, and grow together in a supportive community.
