Rising Stars: Meet Tony Crisp

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tony Crisp.

Hi Tony, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Tony Crisp but I’m mostly known as Ghost, The Entertainer. I’m from College Park, GA. I am 31 years old, married to a beautiful red-headed gorgeous, God-fearing women, Lindsay Crisp. We have a handsome 11-year-old boy.

I knew rhythm since before I could walk. Been dancing ALL my life but didn’t start taking dancing seriously til middle school. Dancing is my passion and my dance resume speaks that. I made my own dance/entertainment group in 9th grade called Ghost Fam Entertainment, been captain of my school dance/step teams all throughout high school, started dancing for the NBA/WNBA my senior year of high school and 5 years after that I toured with the Harlem Globetrotters for 5 ½ years as a dancer and mascot then I got promoted as the Assistant Director of Tour Operations and recently after, got featured on “So You Think You Can Dance” Season 16.

Now, one of the top performers in the Arizona/Atlanta mitzvah market. An amazing MC/Dancer blowing guests away with my energy, candor, professionalism, and enthusiasm to keep the party going! One of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet, very smart, articulate, and humorous making me an obvious choice to MC/Host your next event. I will show you the best and latest dance moves in the industry. I am VERY used to big crowds and believe me, I do not shy away. Performing for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Atlanta Hawks and the Harlem Globetrotters, I will give you that same amount of energy that I deliver for thousands of people in a stadium.

Throughout, my dance career, I realized the joy I bring to people which added fuel to my passion for dance. I realized that I wanted to change the world through dance. As a dancer/entertainer, I made it my goal to make you smile, laugh, inspired, motivated and enjoy the moment, anything to just flush out the negativity flowing in someone.

I’ve been a member at Victory Church for about 4 1/2 years, where I started a dance ministry called Fusion Squad and a Creative Ministry in the works called AWKN (Awaken) I wanted to give my talent back to God and use it for his glory and show people His glory through the creative gift He gave. I want to mentor creators and help them use their gifts/talents to their full potential. I want to be the mentor I needed as a rising entertainer.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has its ups and downs. There is always a struggle in funds and resources. Little things like that come up when starting a business. When I was younger, being an entertainer was a lot smoother, not too many responsibilities and having tons of support made it easy most times.

Trying to run an entertainment business can be time-consuming and mentally exhausting. Now having a family to support and friends/family that look up to you, can sometimes get overwhelming but also motivating. Having the right community, team, and partnerships with people you can truly trust and are just as passionate as you help a ton!

My community are my accountability.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
– I am an entertainer; dancer, choreographer, MC. I MC/Host Mitzvahs, Sweet 16s, Quinceaneras, Weddings, Corporate Events, etc.

– I am a talent agent; I represent talent such as dancers, MCs, DJs, Choreographers, Spoken Word Artists through me and my wife’s entertainment business, So Crisp Entertainment, LLC

– Leader of a dance/creative ministry; At Victory Church, I created a dance/creative ministry for Christian dancers/creatives. We perform at various events at our church and danced for Christian music artist music videos and concert performances.

What sets me apart from others is the fact that when booking me, you didn’t book someone to do a job. I become a part of your event and a part of your family. I’m not just a guy you hired. I am an entertainer that is passionate about making sure you have a GREAT time, I make it a mission to make you dance, smile and laugh and that’s what I’m known for.

“I have the ability to use my facility to bring bliss and joy to everyone in the room. THAT’S WHY I DANCE!” said by Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval when judging Season 16 of So You Think You Can Dance.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck. – I believe God has a plan and a purpose. Every move I make, good or bad has a reason and a purpose. I learn from failures and my successes and use what I learned from the process to mentor others to keep them from making the same mistakes and to help them down the right path for a higher success rate.
