Meet Arielle Prepetit

Today we’d like to introduce you to Arielle Prepetit.

Arielle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. At the age of five years old, I discovered dance and fell in love with it. I trained by entire adolescence and thought I would grow up to be a dancer. When I was 17, I decided I wanted to pursue a career on Broadway. I told my dance teacher Heather Lodispoto and she said to me very directly and honestly “If you want to do this you have to serious about it. You have to take voice lessons, acting classes, and more dance classes. There are kids that have been doing theatre since they were 5 years old and you need to be able to compete.” To which I simply said “Okay”. I took all of my babysitting money and signed up for an acting class at Art’s Sake Acting studio in Winter Park, FL. This was a film & TV acting class and the minute I stepped foot in that class, I knew this was what I really wanted to do. So I shifted gears and started pursuing more of an on-screen acting career. I continued to dance and perform where I could. I worked at Disney World and Universal Studios as a dancer and performer and in March 2o20 I was supposed to embark on an eight months cruise contract as a singer. For obvious reasons (the pandemic) that contract never happened and that’s when I decided to fully focus on acting and make the move to Atlanta. I moved to Atlanta in May of 2021 and it was the best decision I could’ve ever made for my career. Since moving here, I’ve been able to make a living primarily acting in commercials, film & TV.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This industry is one big obstacle course. There is no such thing as a smooth road as an actor. Every day is filled with uncertainty, heartbreak, extreme joy and growth. It’s a rollercoaster that I have been on for the past eight years. Typically as an actor, your career is in the hands of other people. Casting directors, agents, producers, etc. That is why it’s so important to focus on the things you can control and to have a life outside of this business. I take my training and my career very seriously but at the end of the day, I will drive myself crazy if I make this my entire life. It’s taken me a while to fully understand that but now that I do I feel a certain freedom that has only helped my acting. This is the life I’ve chosen and I’m in it for the long haul so I fully accept the lows and highs that come with it. It’s a marathon not a sprint.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I consider myself an actor who dances and can sing. Although my focus is primarily acting, I still train as a dancer and singer in case I have the opportunity to dance/sing in a film or TV show. I take pride in the fact that I do all three and love when I get to incorporate those other skills in my work. Since moving to Atlanta, I’ve signed with one of the best agencies in the Southeast, People Store. I’ve done 15 local and regional commercials, six movies, and 1 TV show. I’ve gotten to work with actors I never thought I’d get to work with including Robert DeNiro, Kim Cattrall, Tyrese Gibson, Terrence Howard, Rosario Dawson and Tony Hale to name a few. The next movie I appear in comes out everywhere in theaters on May 26th called About my Father, written by and starring Sebastian Maniscalco, Robert DeNiro, Leslie Bibb, and Kim Cattrall. After that on July 28th, Disney’s Haunted Mansion comes out which I had the honor of dancing in. My 5-year-old self would be pretty astonished to find out that we got to dance in a huge Disney film. I’ve been really fortunate but I’ve also worked extremely hard to be where I am today. I’m really proud of myself for what I’ve been able to accomplish since moving to Atlanta.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I think most people assume I’ve got it all figured out and that I don’t struggle in my career. And yes, I have had some wins but I can confidently say a lot of the time, I don’t know what I’m doing. I’m generally a pretty confident person but I am also riddled with insecurities. I spend a lot of time manifesting that I will become a big success and then I spend a lot of the other time feeling unsure on how I’m going to make a living. I’m human and human beings can be a lot of things at the same time. So while social media may portray someone who’s got it all figured out, I try to remember that we all have our struggles just on different levels.
