Check Out Upstrz’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Upstrz.

Hi Upstrz, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m originally from Saint Paul, Minnesota, and grew up in the Rondo neighborhood. My mom worked hard to provide for us, but she always encouraged my creativity and supported my passion for music and the arts. As a kid, I loved singing, dancing, acting, drawing, and anything that allowed me to express myself creatively. After high school, my dad moved me from Houston to Atlanta to explore new opportunities. It was a big change, but I was excited to dive into this world and see where my talent could take me. I started networking and meeting other artists and professionals in the business, and I quickly realized that Atlanta was the place to be for anyone who wanted to make a name for themselves in music. Fast forward to now later, landing placements on artists like Chris Brown, Eric Bellinger, Vedo and more.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think every journey has its ups and downs, and mine has been no exception. For me, some of the biggest challenges have been personal. I’ve had to deal with the loss of family members, some to violence or health issues, and that has been really tough. I’ve also had to navigate some difficult times in my personal life, balancing my career goals with my relationships and responsibilities outside of music. But I’ve tried to stay positive and focused on my passion for music and learned a lot from the challenges I’ve faced. But through it all, I’ve tried to stay positive, motivated, and creative, and I’ve learned to draw strength from the challenges that I’ve faced.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I sing, write songs, and produce music, I specialize in anything music. I’m known for my work writing for Chris Brown, Eric Bellinger, and Vedo, just to name a few. Recently, I released my EP Meet Me UPSTRZ, which I’m really proud of because it shows my range as an artist. Whether I’m making music for myself or writing for other artists, I always strive to connect with my audience on a deep level. But what really makes me proud is being able to provide for my family through music. Coming from humble beginnings, it’s a dream come true to be able to make something out of nothing and use my skills to make a positive impact. And that is what sets me apart is that I’m fully self-sufficient in music. I can create a whole track from scratch, from the melody to the production, with no problem.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
It’s hard to predict exactly where things will go. I think the music industry is in a really exciting place right now. We’re seeing a lot of experimentation and innovation in terms of style, genre, and sound, and that’s creating some really interesting and dynamic music. One trend that I think we’ll continue to see is a focus on community-building and fan engagement. With so many different artists out there, it’s important to find ways to connect with your audience on a personal level and to build a loyal following. No matter how the industry evolves, people will always be looking for music that speaks to them on a deep level, makes them feel something, and captures the spirit of the times in which we live.
