Today we’d like to introduce you to Terry Barnes II.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well, I’m an independent filmmaker who also works in the film industry at a major studio in Atlanta in lighting. I started by having an imagination of creating and that turned into film once I saw is not only a potential career but also my passion. I always was the one with the camera and taking pics or videos and that led to me finding an art school once I was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. I then received my Associate’s in Digital Filmmaking and my Bachelor’s in Film
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not, especially with being independent. The main thing is finances like in any business, then it’s the resources and personnel needed to bring a vision to life. Trying to support yourself and being a creative is tricky and finding a balance can be enough to make most people quit.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I write, direct, produce and edit music videos, commercials, short films and features. What sets me apart is my drive and never quit mentality. I’m also known as a motivator and I can get a crew to the finish line. My company is called NDO FiLMz and the NDO stands for No Dayz OFF.
