Hakeali , thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
As a young boy there were always three things that I have always been extremely passionate about. Music being my first love, Understanding and Utilizing Technology, and Connecting with other people in various spectrums of life. This probably stemmed mostly from growing up in a particularly large house hold of eight, with four brothers and one sister all musically inclined and genuine. There is and has always has been a song in my heart that is always unique and carries a type of rhythm that reflects the vibration of my current state of mind. Whether I am happy and motivated or sad and heartbroken along with everything in between I’ve been given this ability to see and hear melodies to express through music that resonates to the soul. My relationship with Technology started as early as five years of age, when I would sit behind old IBM computers and try to navigate through what was at the time Windows XP and understand all of the applications on the PC. This practice grew into an obsession where I would harass anyone that I knew that was older that had a phone or laptop (grandparents, parents, brothers, sister, cousins, etc.) I would politely ask if “they had games on their phone” and begin to study the intricacies of the device. I was always less interested in finding out things about what other people were doing on their device rather having an appetite and focus interested in how these things worked. As I got older you could regularly find broken phones, TVs and Computers being fixed or recycled as spare parts for future “projects” as I would call them in my room. When I discovered FL studios, a music production software also known as Fruity Loops, and downloaded it on my laptop I was using at the time for school at the age of 15 my entire world changed. Everywhere I went you would see me with my laptop making beats and writing music spending a lot of time alone or with friends creating. Making music felt bigger than a hobby to me but more so an entire universe that I was in charge of stroking pallets sonically onto a blank canvas to express and idea or feeling that I had simply with a mic, laptop and key strokes creating songs that may never be heard or released into the world if I decided to share it. In 2017, I graduated from high school at Locust Grove High School as well as completed my Associates Degree in Computer Programming at Southern Crescent Technical College in a Dual Enrollment Program and released my first song “Feeling Like” on all platforms, which received a lot of positive feedback from people that supported me and were fans of my sound. Music has transformed over the years becoming more digital which for me felt right at home. I was able to blend my love for both music and technology to connect with people that chose to listen to me. Understanding that I had a gift I knew that I needed to have the resources to purse my dreams as an artist so I began my first IT role as a Support Engineer at Nocwing in Griffin Georgia up until 2019. Drew Taylor the CEO of Nocwing was a huge inspiration for me. Not only did he take me under his wing and expose me to the different aspects of a successfully ran IT business he also introduced me to the idea that it was possible to start a small IT company and grow it to a large scale. August of 2019 I had my last meeting with him working as an employee and expressed to him that I had a vision and desire to grow an IT company of my own. I thought it was funny that he expressed to me that he saw this day coming, he wished me the best guaranteeing that I could reach out to him with an open door of contact and I began my journey of entrepreneurship as a IT professional by enrolling into Middle Georgia State University to purse my bachelors in Cyber Security Information Technology. The activity in my artist career took a halt after 2019 from doing open mics and being in studios to becoming a full time student. I never stopped writing or creating I just didn’t make it my focus to share the expressions that I had while the focal point of my journey was on developing my IT skills for my future business. I didn’t even know what my business would be about when I left Nocwing, It is such a broad industry and you can literally be successful and scale anything if you had the drive for it. While I was in school I began by replacing cracked IPhone screens and troubleshooting the laptops and computers of other students and people I knew that would reach out to me for assistance from the skills I had already possessed. That was going well until COVID-19 happened in 2020. That was when the access that I had to cliental diminished and I switched from being on campus to completing the rest of my degree online. During COVID I felt defeated at first, still unsure about what industry I would establish myself in as an IT professional and Entrepreneur as well as what I would do to generate income as a full time student being that everything had stopped in the world. During this time I was researching a lot about ecommerce, marketing and making money online. There were several business influencers that caught my attention with the type of money that they were generating online so with all odds stacked against me I decided to make a plan of my own and created my first online clothing line brand 6FEETIMTH that stood for “FORWARD, EVOLVING, EFFORT & TIME INTO MAKING THINGS HAPPEN” with the 6 standing my “myself” because there are six letters in myself. 6FEETIMTH began as an ideal movement that represented those developing the mindset of success daily aiming to control their own narrative and building upon the vision for the type of person that you wanted to become in the future. I shared the pleasure of building this brand with my closest friends who still stand near and dear to my heart today. They dedicated every other week to showing up on time for photoshoots, modeling and creating content with me trusting my leadership for a cause everyone believed in, sharing moments and memories and building several relationships that will last a lifetime. 6FEETIMTH even took to YouTube as a Podcast interviewing Artist and other Entrepreneurs that embodied what the brand was about discussing several topics about their journeys and life. Some of these individuals being Dr. Kojo Sarfo global public figure and content creator bringing awareness to mental health and ADAHD, New Breed Nye Accomplished Musical Artist, Actor and Public Figure, Jaylon Baker Extremely Talented Musical Artist, Kevonne Jackson Accomplished Public Figure and Entrepreneur in Atlanta, and Monye Tucker Hall of Famer and National Martial Arts Champion. In October of 2020 I put together the first 6FEETIMTH fashion show at the Tabu Lounge in McDonough GA Hosted by Skylyfee and DJ Spin with music performances by New breed Nye, Jaylon Baker, WeWantFani and Mark Jean showcasing collections that were to be released that year.
With the success from the skills and business knowledge I obtained in 2020 from creating the 6FEETIMTH brand and website and marketing everything myself I found a new love for the process of building brands and understood how I could service others with the technical skills I had of designing beautiful websites and ecommerce stores as well as utilizing effective marketing campaigns and techniques. I acquired my first client at a wholesale retail store while purchasing inventory to fulfill orders for 6FEETIMTH from over hearing a conversation from someone behind me that expressed that they needed a website for their business. I offered my services to them, delivered and the rest was history. Suddenly by word of mouth I am building websites for everyone that has a business, majority being black owned businesses, that ranged from personal trainers, Restaurant owners, Freight Brokerages, Car Detailing, Trucking, Non-profits, clothing brands and more. Seeing the success in the satisfaction of those that I was delivering my services to and growth that I have made servicing so many different entities over the course of 2021 I established my very own IT company as “SYNC BROAD MEDIA & TECHNOLOGY” designed to take other businesses to the next level with ecommerce and web design solutions as well as incorporating consulting technology and implementations for companies nationally. Since becoming incorporated SYNC BROAD MT has grown into a small team and has serviced many clients by designing beautiful websites to showcase their brands as well as fulfilling role as the marketing team for multiple businesses creating content and running paid ads to increase revenue and exposure. Some of our highlighted moments in 2022 have been being seen on CNBC with DOW Trucking LLC, Working with City Councilman Corey A. Reeves of District 5 in the City Of South Fulton and Supporting the movement of the Brothers United For Change founded by Dr Robbin Ivey.
Today SYNC BROAD MEDIA & TECHNOLOGY is flourishing beyond what I could have ever imagined an IT company that started from a dream that I had not too long ago become what it is today. I am truly grateful for all of the support and opportunities that I have been presented along the way and recognize that this is only the beginning. I am diligently working daily to grow an build upon the foundation that has been set to service my clients. I have finished my bachelor’s degree at MGA in Cyber Security Information Technology and have become a Father to my beautiful daughter Sahroara with her gorgeous mother Synomia also being my dedicated partner in crime in everything I do standing beside me through this entire journey and transformation. It is ultimately my mission to build wealth into my family for the future as a first generation entrepreneur. As far as my Artistry goes I have resumed producing and sharing music while I build my business as an entrepreneur under the pseudonym of Six 2 Official AKA “Six”. The name to be interpreted as the Six representing myself, the significance of the number being reiterated a lot in my life, and on the road to becoming to official being officially myself daily. Monye Tucker has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Monye and your experience with them.
Monye is someone that I consider a brother to me! As a mentor, Coach and Leader with his Carnage Clan and his accomplishments in Mixed Martial Arts I always admired his tenacity to accomplish everything he has set his eyes on. He always has a can do attitude and respect for whoever he is close to especially if it is in collaboration on a specific project or goal. He always supports all of the things that I am doing and is a huge daily inspiration when it comes to sending words of encouragement and displaying action towards what can be done and the ways that we can build up our brands together by creating content that will inspire others or discuss finding solutions for how we can impact our local communities. He is someone that I have had the pleasure of witnessing consistently reinvent himself to reach new levels. The effort that he puts into his family as a father and husband, as well as his business as the owner and leader of a world changing brand and time he puts into himself as a man is something that does not take too long to understand is only achieved with years of dedication and hard work. Both of our brands represent hustle and putting in the work to become the best as you compete against the biggest competitor in life which is yourself every day. Currently we have a few projects in the works that I am extremely excited to present to the world and know that it is really going to make a huge impact to everyone that gets involved. We both are really into the world of Fitness, Fashion and Film and aim to add our own flavor to contribute a revolution of ideas made to inspire others in real time. The way that I see him dive head first into projects fearlessly always brings a different type of energy into what ever I am working with him on and admire that. Over all I look forward to seeing the progress and milestones that he continues to make in the future and continuing to work with him as we make history together in building our business, I can definitely say that I am truly grateful for having him as a partner and also a close friend.
