Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Whipple.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m passionate about being a community builder and resourcing women entrepreneurs.
I have a background in supply chain and manufacturing and have been working as a Start-Up and Process Consultant. I work with top visionaries helping them to grow, scale, and organize their businesses – Quick Video Here –Click Here
Recently, I helped to organize a conference for over 500 business owners and entrepreneurs and saw the need – the StrongHER track was packed and not all the women could fit into the classrooms! At that point, I was already answering 8-15 hours of questions a week resourcing new business owners and wanted to do something about it. I realized that these new startups needed so many resources and this motivated me to create the Rise and Shine Mastermind group.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s not a direct path even though when you look back on my work and journey, it looks like it was. Early off as an entrepreneur, 11 years ago, I started using my product launching skills from my supply chain background. I launched a medical kit company where I created recovery kits for urologists (I designed a pair of compression shorts that were manufactured overseas, and I would logo the shorts for their office.) I created post-vasectomy kits. Those turned into additional medical products. I was not passionate about the products, however, but I loved the creation process. From there, I sold that off and began working with other companies to launch their businesses and organize them with a manufacturing mindset.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run an early morning bootcamp that challenges women entrepreneurs to “Get up and Get Growing” from 5:20-6:20AM. They have weekly homework to help refine their business ideas, accountability partners, and they track their habits and goals on an app! I am well positioned to understand the needs of young businesses and to help them to get the traction they are looking for. For example, I am fairly well connected, so I have vetted resources for many of the hurdles that young business encounter (i.e., website design, legal filings, accounting, etc.).
Once they complete my initial series of classes, I also run a weekly mastermind group for more established female entrepreneurs. In this group, I lead discussions on different dimensions of running a business and discuss best practices from industry experts. It has really formed into a nice community of female business owners who can supply resources to one another and provide a valuable support system as they pursue their business goals.
