Meet Nathon Brooks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathon Brooks.

Hi Nathon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
So, I got started in 2016. In 2016, my creative juices starting flowing toward a fashion brand. I was working in the banking industry but was unfulfilled and was searching for purpose. After searching and praying, I realized I wanted to educate, uplift, and inspire others and fashion would be the way I’d do it. I came up with a concept, logo, started researching how to start a business and began my journey.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t always been smooth. There is so much depth and nuances with running a business. I feel like I get better and more knowledgeable as the years go along. There have been some high moments and low moments along the way. Some of the struggles have been mastering our target audience, raising capital, and mastering our marketing strategies.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So, Rebel Bred started out as a streetwear fashion brand catered to women, men, and kids. Now we incorporate athletic leisure and holistic merchandise into our brand. You will find women’s dresses, leggings, purses and bracelets. Men’s and women’s t-shirts, sweatsuits, and hats. Kid’s clothing and sporting equipment. We specialize in women’s clothing. We our most known for our melanin at the supper hoodies.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
As an entrepreneur, there are always going to be risks involved. I feel like the more experience you gain in business the less risk is taken because you have the data and experience with your audience. One risk I took that worked was traveling to Atlanta to spread the awareness of the brand. Now opportunities are opening that will expand the brand. One risk I took that didn’t work for the brand was opening up a brick and mortar in a bad location. However, all failed risks make you stronger if handled appropriately.
