Rising Stars: Meet Brody Fields

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brody Fields.

Hi Brody, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I have been running around with a camera in my hand and watching films for as long as I can remember. Classic films like Grease, Menace 2 Society and so many more had such a profound influence on me at a very young age. It helped create the passion for photography and film that I have today. I shot and developed my first roll of film when I was 9 years old. Back when Walgreens still developed your film in-house. I still have those photos. Photos of my third-grade friends and summer trips allow me to look back on how it all really started. Yet, it wasn’t until 2018 while attending the College of Southern Nevada in my hometown of Las Vegas that I started to take it much more seriously. I became heavily interested in shooting film photography as well as digital photography. After spending a few years traveling and shooting in different cities, I decided to move to Atlanta in 2021 to further pursue my passion. My love for photography and film has inspired so many parts of my life and has truly given me the joy that I spent so much of my early life looking for.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There is no such thing as a smooth road. Obstacles and challenges will always be a part of the process. I have definitely experienced my fair share of depression as well as mishaps and misfortunes. But I would not be where I am today if I had not gone through it all. It is all about how you handle the struggle. My grandfather told me two things that have always stuck with me throughout my life- One: adversity builds character, two: trouble does not last forever.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the founder of my own photography company called Brody Got Shots Photography. I specialize in everything from portraiture to events. Photography is my passion and I am dedicated to creating beautiful content for my clients. I am constantly working on projects with other creators and brands. I am currently traveling the US and shooting daily for my upcoming photobooks. My photography and music reviews have been published by entertainment organizations such as IMPRINT ENT. I am most proud that I had the courage to move to Atlanta on my own. My whole support system is back home in Las Vegas and it definitely gets tough trying to maneuver in an unfamiliar city without the people who really support you. But I have definitely found my second home in ATL. The city has given me an opportunity to grow as an artist and create art without worrying about the opinions of others.

Any big plans?
I plan to continue traveling and creating art. The best time in my life are when I am experiencing different places and different cultures. It inspires me and inspires my work. I plan to live in abroad within the next few years. I believe living somewhere like Japan or Spain will be an amazing experience and I am excited to see how it will inspire my work.
