Hi Masiana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always had a love for candles and smell goods. My mama and nana always had candles and incense burning throughout the house growing up, so I ended up developing a love for them too. In January of 2021, I was diagnosed with Covid-19 and I lost my smell for 6 months!! It felt like I had lost it forever. Us humans tend to be unappreciative of things until we lose it. I still had a love for candles but it was boring just watching a plain candle burn. I then had an idea on how I can keep candles from looking so “Boring” or “Plain” I felt all candles looked the same and I wanted to be different! Who doesn’t love the smell of desserts?
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is not an easy road, there has been plenty of times I felt like quitting throughout my journey. Some may think the Candle business is “ oversaturated” and standing out in business can get hard at times, but I have found ways to manage.

Hello! My name is Masiana Geter. I am the owner of Hitchcock Confectionery Candles, We are a bakery-inspired candle business.
