Today we’d like to introduce you to Treana White.
Hi Treana, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I decided to start my business in May of 2021. The year before on 6/24/2020 I had lost everything that I had… While I was eight months pregnant, my family and I had our home door kicked in by the FBI. For almost two years, we were fighting a federal case for a crime we did not commit, which caused us to lose our home, our finances and our jobs. During the time, I ended up having my son. By this time, we were staying in a room in my son’s grandparents’ home. We had to make a decision, to let our situation control us or find a way. I had already been doing graphic design as a hobby, I had been creating logos, flyers and invitations for years for my peers, coworkers, professors and family.
I decided to research into the fundamentals of design more and perfect my craft. During the time I could not get a job due to the pending charges, I used that time to study, I enrolled into design courses, I stayed up morning to night learning all I could and writing it all down. I learned how to design vector images, code websites, layout control, marketing skills, branding guidelines and more. I knew I needed to become my own boss because I never wanted to look in the eyes of my child again and feel helpless. 2/22/22 the case was finally dismissed.
As of 6/24/22, I had found a job making more than I did before, acquired my LLC and business license. Treativedesigns.co had been there when I needed it the most. My business is what kept me afloat. After the case was dismissed, it was grinding time, we built our social media skills with the marketing skills we learned, we expanded our services and now have over 10k supports across all social media platforms. This is just a part of my story, but I hope this part gives the readers hope.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Finances, my mother passing away when I was 5, going through foster care, fighting a federal case for a rime I did not commit, losing it all, having to drop out of school because of the case and having to rebuild everything from scratch. Although the road has been hard. Nothing worth having comes easy, you will appreciate it more when you have to fight for it. You have one life; you can’t control the hands dealt but you can control how you play them.

I am a graphic designer. I specialize in web design, business branding, marketing designs, social media design and marketing, flyer design, prints, Layout design and more.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I would say in the design industry to be creative. I had all eyes on me when I started because my goal was not to just work with corporate business. I wanted to work with anyone who had an imagination, who could think big. Learn your field so you can dominate, really focus on customer service.
