Meet Janece Streeter of The Streeter Realty Co.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janece Streeter.

Hi Janece, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I had always been interested in real estate and I love helping and educating people. I was honestly tired of living the status quo. We are taught to go to school, graduate, get a “good job”, and then work for the next 40-50 years of our lives just to help someone else build up their business. I figured, why not put myself in the position to do something that I enjoy and reap the benefits for myself and my family.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been completely smooth. Starting your own business is never easy. Having the skills to help people sell and buy real estate is one thing, but knowing how to effectively run a business is another thing completely. Setting up systems, creating a business budget, capitalizing the business, completing profit and loss statements, those were the challenging parts that no one really talks about.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Streeter Realty Co.?
We are a husband and wife-owned real estate company powered by Keller Williams. We help people purchase and sell homes. For us, this is about more than real estate – it‘s about a person’s life, their dreams and their desired outcomes. Working with someone looking to buy or sell a home is not a one-size fits all process, so we approach each one of our clients individually, taking the time to understand their current situation, unique needs and lifestyle. With the Streeter Realty Company, it’s about more than just real estate, it’s an experience.

We pride ourselves on building relationships, educating and being a resource to our community to help people build wealth one house at a time.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I wouldn’t categorize myself as a risk taker at all! I’m usually very meticulous and I love to plan. However, with that being said, I got into real estate after participating in a voluntary layoff program with my previous employer. Work dried up and they were looking for people to voluntarily leave the company. I had been praying for God to show me where I needed to be career-wise where I could make the largest impact. So, when my job asked for volunteers, I left. 23 days later I passed the Georgia Real estate exam and the rest was history!

So while I don’t believe in taking unnecessary risks, I do believe that some risk is worth it. Success lies right on the other side of our comfort zone!
