Hi Crystal, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Augusta GA graduating high school at 17 years old the first career path I chose was to be a Master Cosmetologist. I did attempt to do other things and work other jobs, but I only found passion in the beauty field. I’ve actively worked as a licensed cosmetologist Since 2012, and I officially registered my brand as a business in the state of Ga in 2018, StyledBeautyCompany. Since then I’m now responsible for 2 businesses (StyledBeautyco & HauteCouture LHC LLC.) and a nonprofit (Her Foundation) that I am currently working on building. Haute Couture luxury Hair company is my Raw luxury hair line that I started a year ago, and it’s still pretty new to me, but we have a lot more in store for anyone who looks at their hair as a priority & an investment! In 2021, I officially began to grow my Personal Brand Crystal Marie and I’ve gain in a whole over 500k followers between all of my social media accounts and I’ve monetized my TikTok, Fb, and IG which has opened up more opportunities from teach my methods to collaborating with small and big businesses to create social media content. I am currently working on a few Indie projects that I have been casted for and I have relocated to a new city (Atlanta Ga) while still servicing my loyal clients back home!! Overall this journey that I’m on has been a rocky, fun, challenging & joyful experience but for some reason, it just feels like the beginning!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not always been smooth !! I have and still have days of self-doubt, & moments where I feel I deserve wayyyy more support… and I’ve even lost a few friends I thought I’d have forever. Creators block will literally make you want to quit! Even in my business, I’m thinking “Hmm, I have this many ppl following and interacting with me; what aren’t they supporting me like they should”!! This lifestyle is not for the weak so that mentality keeps me going I’ve been an entrepreneur for over 10 years now and I don’t plan on giving up!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a stylist but right now I feel like I’m most known for creating skits and get ready with me videos… even lifestyle content! I’m really proud of my GRWM content because it takes so much time and I’ve been pretty Consistent with creating this content for my followers but I know I Can do more!
What are your plans for the future?
I’m planning to get more into film! If the opportunities present themselves, I’m taking them! I want to create a household name For myself & I plan on focusing in on perfecting everything I need to achieve this goal
