Community Highlights: Meet Yolanda Carrasquillo of The CBC Brand

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yolanda Carrasquillo.

Hi Yolanda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began when I graduated from school as a massage therapist, but I was injured and as a single mother I was concerned about finding employment. Despite this setback, I was determined to make it work and started looking for a job. I eventually found work at a residential property, which is where I came up with the idea to work as a mobile massage therapist and get my clients while working at my current job.

To my surprise, I gained clients quickly and even collaborated with the salon located in the property to take on outside clients at my job location. However, I eventually got fired from my job. Fortunately, the residents I had been working with continued to book with me, and to this day, I still have most of my clients from that building.

I decided to continue working at other residential properties until I felt that I had enough clientele. It was a challenging few years, but I began to see the benefits of working for myself. I enjoyed the flexibility of being able to set my own schedule and rates.

After working on my own for some time, I decided to create an LLC for my business called The CBC Brand LLC. This allowed me to gain recognition and praise for my professionalism and quality of service. I have also earned notable achievements, such as awards and certifications, along the way.

In conclusion, my journey from starting out as a mobile massage therapist to becoming a successful entrepreneur with a thriving business was not easy, but it has been rewarding. I have learned that determination, resourcefulness, and commitment to delivering top-notch service to clients are key ingredients for success in any industry.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road for me. While I was great at what I do, I was not so great at running my own business, as I did not have much experience in that department. One of my biggest struggles was that I would undercharge for my services and overspend on products, which left me coming up short financially for some time. I also did not budget my finances well, which is why I had to continue working a part-time job for a while.

It was not until I went to the bank and was persuaded to see someone from the business department that things started to turn around. They provided me with healthy tools on how to budget my money and put together a monthly budget to help me stay on track. With their guidance, I was able to get certain loans that eventually helped me grow my business.

While there were struggles along the way, I learned valuable lessons that have made me a better business owner today. I now have a better understanding of financial management and have put systems in place to ensure that I stay on track with my budget. I have also learned the importance of seeking advice and guidance from professionals in the field when needed. (which I advise for all business owners)

I am the owner of a mobile massage business that operates in Atlanta, Miami, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York. With eight years of experience working for myself, I specialize in sports therapy, having worked with players from teams such as The Eagles, Giants, Minnesota Vikings, and The Atlanta Falcons. I also provide a range of other massage services such as Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, reflexology, sports massage, Gua Sha, and hot stone.

What sets me apart from others in the industry is the level of care and attention I provide my clients with. I believe in providing my clients with not only excellent massage services but also with information on tools, food recommendations, and other self-care practices that can help them maintain their physical and mental well-being.

I am most proud of building my brand using little to no social media. In this day and age, social media can be a game-changer, especially since Covid, but I have been able to maximize sales through other means. I believe that my focus on providing exceptional service and care to my clients has helped me build a loyal customer base that continues to refer me to others.

Overall, I want readers to know that my brand is focused on providing excellent massage services that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. I am passionate about helping my clients achieve overall wellness, and I strive to provide them with the tools and information they need to achieve this. Whether you are an athlete or simply looking to unwind and relax, I have a range of massage services that can help you feel your best.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I have been fortunate to work with a number of incredible mentors, supporters, and teammates throughout my career, and I truly believe that their contributions have played a significant role in my success. First and foremost, I owe a debt of gratitude to my clients, who have placed their trust in me and allowed me to work with them to achieve their goals. I also want to recognize the hard work and dedication of my team members, who have brought their unique skills and perspectives to every project we’ve undertaken. None of this would be possible without their trust and support, and I look forward to continuing to work with them to achieve even greater things in the future.
