Daily Inspiration: Meet Taylor Bell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Bell.

Taylor, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started out in one of the poorest cities in America in Reading Pennsylvania. A lot of kids I knew passed away to gun violence or are locked up for a long time. I always felt like I had a bigger vision than the small town I grew up in and a much bigger vision. I started writing and recording music when I was 12. I also always had a passion for Real Estate! I would always draw my dream homes and homes I wanted to eventually build. I used music as a way to escape my surroundings and express my emotions. I started to inspire a lot of those kids around me to make music and find a positive outlet. I grew in popularity in my city and began a known rapper and inspiration. I eventually moved on to write a tribute song for all the people who passed in my city. And that really went viral in my city. I started throwing rap events to give some positivity to the city and a lot of people came to rap and escape and were very appreciative of the event!

I would have the whole block filled out with souls who just wanted to rap and escape and be around like-minded people. I started to have speakers speak about Real Estate to give my peers a different mindset and expand their knowledge and let them know there is more out there and you can be successful in business looking like us and from a poor city like us. I also pursued and received my Architectural Drafting degree after graduating high school. I eventually outgrew my town and felt like I needed to be inspired to grow so I can continue to grow around people much more successful than I am. I found my opportunity in the pandemic when my job layed us off for a few months. My entrepreneurial spirit kicked in and me and my boyfriend started a music studio in his mom’s basement! It was a huge success and we made so much money. It opened our minds to the fact that we can make money doing what we love .

One night I said let’s move to Atlanta and we had never even visited ATL. But I knew Atlanta was a place that people like me are hugely successful and he was down for it! He quit his job and I quit mine! We packed our cars and moved together with 4k from our music studio in our pocket and started a new life no family in Atlanta. We actually lived in a room we renting in a warehouse for $500 a month that we also ran our studio out of. And we met a lot of people who supported us and came to our studio. I eventually got pregnant with my son and said we got to level up! We can’t be in A warehouse with a son. I am ok being risky on my own terms but having A child I knew I had to elevate. I studied for my Real estate license all while I was pregnant and passed my text and got licensed a few weeks before I gave birth and joined an amazing black-owned brokerage and started my Real Estate career and it has really changed my life. I started to make more money I have ever made in my life and I am able to be home with my son and bring him along to show him this new life and inspire him.

I still rap to give people education on Real Estate that they can understand! And keep inspiring and growing.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t smooth transitioning to making a guaranteed paycheck and going to being an entrepreneur is a tough mental shift you have to make! And it is tough to make a shift when you are not used to it! I keep great people around me to keep me going and remind me it is possible. I work out to keep my mind strong and I have read tons of books that have totally shifted my mindset so I can remain strong in the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in Relationships I draw the people to me that are like me and want to achieve dreams like me and I help them achieve it. Whether it be investing in Real Estate. Purchasing their first home or making money with their music career.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as freedom to live the life you really want to and appreciation for the life you have.
