Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaimee Brown.
Hi Jaimee, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Jaimee brown I’m orginally from South Carolina I am a model, actress, and promoter some would say an overall entertainer. I started back in 2018 where I was introduced to modeling by the father of my child and after it was suggested to me. I laughed because me being a model I never imagined it in my life because my self-esteem was very low at the time and with my self-esteem being so low at the time, I was more in my masculine energy than in my feminine energy. But, once I started the journey, it opened many more doors for me along the way not just in a physical sense but in a more spiritual and emotional aspect also. It started with me getting more comfortable in front of the camera, then me taking classes how to walk on the runway, knowing my angles the basics of actually being a model and to be honest, I enjoyed every moment of it and became more grateful for the process God was sending me through. So that’s when I started promoting my brand more then I started going to casting calls more, walking in more shows, taking more photos, trying to learn the business aspect of the business, and learning how to be a model on and off the runway for the community.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been no where near a smooth ride. I had to battle many things along the process. I battled depression from when my sister died the day before my birthday. Which for a long time I looked at it as a bad situation but I had to see the beauty within it my sister called me at 3 am we talked briefly then by the end of the call I told her “I love you” and she said in return “I love you 2” and by 6 am she was pronounced dead. I had to look at it from a standpoint that I was able to do something that majority of the people on this planet has prayed countless times to do and that is to tell someone who they love near and dear that they love them before they pass away and I was blessed with the opportunity to do so. I’ve battled people judging me for my looks because I don’t fit the standard image of what a “model” should look like. If it wasn’t because of my size it was my skin if it wasn’t my skin it was my dreadlocks many times being judged and many times I continued to put myself out there no matter the scrutiny I endured. I had to take a look at myself and went through a dark night of the soul and realized that I was the problem in many situations not other people and even if I wasn’t the problem, I allowed certain things to continue when I knew I should have set up boundaries with people no matter the title they held in my life and being ok with just being myself no matter who I’m around.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a model, actress, and promoter. I’m known for promoting for MMG in 2018 when he was on the search for his new black bottle boys/girls. The most recent thing I am known for is wearing the dog collar with the leash around my neck to make a profound statement. I’m most proud of God having mercy on me when I didn’t have any on myself. I think what sets me apart from other models is me not being afraid to push social norms.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
The art of seduction helped me with my femininity. The millionaire next door helped me to not only learn how to manage money a little better still working on it lol but to not get so caught up with an “image” that’s not matching my bank account. Along with me being on Bigo forcing me to go live two hours out of the day, making me comfortable with just talking to people. Instagram helped me get myself out there more and promote my brand. Facebook to promote my tarot reading business.
