Hi Sydney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
During the pandemic, my kids and I found ourselves with plenty of spare time on our hands. This led us to discover the art of candle making, and we quickly became hooked. We started giving our candles away to friends and family and even to our local pharmacist, Tracy. But it wasn’t long before Tracy’s interest in our candles turned into a business opportunity. She placed a huge wholesale order, which forced us to learn how to produce, package, and process candles on a much larger scale.
As our candles gained popularity, we were approached by several stores under the Williams Sonoma umbrella, including West Elm, Pottery Barn, and Rejuvenation. This unexpected turn of events forced us to turn our hobby into a full-fledged business if we wanted to maintain our presence in these stores. We invested in equipment and supplies, hired staff, and established a website to sell our candles online.
Looking back, it’s amazing to see how a simple hobby could turn into a successful business venture. We are grateful for the opportunity that the pandemic gave us to discover our passion for candle making and turn it into a thriving business.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Throughout this journey, I’ve experienced nothing but seamless progress. I feel this is because it’s an integral part of my personal path and the next phase of my life. Each step is unfolding beautifully, and I can’t help but feel thrilled about what the upcoming three years may hold.

Sydney Nicole Candle Co. stands out from the crowd because of its personal touch. My products are carefully selected and crafted like a masterpiece. Every candle is created using the highest quality ingredients, including a unique wax blend, cotton wicks, and phthalate-free fragrance. Each one is meticulously hand poured with love, avoiding any mass production or machinery. These candles are truly handcrafted with care.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Sydney Nicole Candle Co. has set its sights on a bright future. Over the next five years, our luxury products will be available in top-tier stores across the United States. Our state-of-the-art production warehouse will be fully operational, creating over 100 jobs for hardworking individuals. Additionally, our philanthropic efforts will be in full swing as we continue to provide undergarments to those experiencing homelessness.
