Today we’d like to introduce you to Liz Carlile.
Liz, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My journey into becoming a podcast host began small with my desire to process the overwhelming experience of motherhood through blogging. The blog posts were widely read and eventually, turned into articles published by top rated online magazines Red Tricycle and elephant journal. From there, I decided that in order to expand my message of mindful living, self-care and healing, I needed to move into audio.
Since the launch of my podcast, Motherhood Unstressed last month, it had exploded with almost 1,000 unique downloads. Clearly, the message of self-love and acceptance through the journey of motherhood and beyond is something we all strive to incorporate into our lives. I feel so incredibly blessed to have this platform so that more people can discover who they truly are and create a truly beautiful life for themselves in the here and now.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Blogging came naturally, I’ve always loved to write. The real obstacle came in learning the ins and outs of podcast production. It’s more complicated than it seems and the many moving parts it takes to create a successful show surprised me. However, it is something I truly love and so all the hours and mini frustrations are completely worth it.
Motherhood Unstressed Podcast – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Motherhood Unstressed Podcast is a place for moms and non-moms alike to come together and foster a greater understanding of themselves and the human condition. The guests on the show offer their personal stories, often difficult, as a guide to understanding triumph over pain and what it means to be resilient. I created the show because it was something I needed as a mom and as a person with the desire to heal and know my true self. I know wholeheartedly that it is doing that for others as well.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me means that I am bringing value to another person. When I produce a show that touches another person to the core and they reach or to me to let me know that I affected a positive change in their lives, that is an absolute success. It has happened countless times since the launch of the show and that confirmation is all the motivation I need to keep going and digging deeper with more amazing, heartfelt content.
