Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Wise.
Hi Brandon, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina. I moved to Atlanta in 2010 to expand my music career and start a new business. I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ when I was 17 years old. When I was 16, I was living a rebellious teen life and I even sold drugs for a short time before I turned my life around.
When God changed my life, I started rapping Gospel music at 17 as an expression of my faith and new experience. Started doing shows all over the country for years and decided to move from the small town of Asheville to the big city of Atlanta for more opportunities.
Started working at Macy’s in 2010 when I got here. At Macy’s, I was selling fragrances, which inspired me to start my own brand. I have been Performing at local venues for years, and in 2019 started working on my own fragrance line called Wise Fragrances.
I launched Wise Fragrances in July 2021 and had a very successful launch. I have scents for men and women. Now I’m working on a relaunch this summer and an album release this year.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road. I was evicted from my apartment, went through bad breakups, slept in my car, had unexpected deaths in the family, and even my first fragrance manufacturer overseas shut down and went out of business right after my first launch. I was totally unprepared and had to start all over. But determined to never give up.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I do a couple of things. I am a Gospel rap recording artist and a fragrance line owner. I’m known for rapping, singing and writing.
I’m most proud of the impact my music has made on others. Inspired two of my best friends to come to Christ and out of the drug and street life as well as many others. I’m proud of the inspiration I brought to the world and being the first one in my family to start a fragrance line.
What sets me apart is that I put every ounce of passion in my music, business, and everything I do. I always pray for God’s blessing before I do anything. And I spread His love wherever I go
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I define success as winning and prospering, and never giving up on a goal. Even if you don’t reach the goal, the fact that you don’t quit is a huge win.
