Today we’d like to introduce you to Made Millie.
Hi Made, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always had a passion for music, but I let fear hold me back for many years. The day my brother passed, every piece of doubt went out the window. I knew I had to make the dream a reality. I always knew I was going to command the attention of many. Whether it was serving fire cocktails behind some of hottest bars or being the center the attention with my vivacious presence and life of the party attitude. I have always stood out. I touched my first stage in 2019 with a poem titled “Sweet Tooth”, A raw melodic expression detailing the sensuous and addictive encounter. I wrote this piece for fun, never expecting to share it on a large scale. After posting it on my Instagram page, the love and reaction I received was massive. Multiple close friends encouraged Millie to perform at local venues, which prompted her to transition into rap. “Sweet Tooth” was the introduction to my bold, brash, and sex-confident sound.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth! Ha!!!! Every day I feel like I’m on a rollercoaster. From losing my brother to no longer being close to family or “friends”, and people I once thought would be in every chapter with me who no longer have access to me I think has been the hardest part. Everything I do keeps in the forefront of my mind just what and who I want to bless. People I thought would be there till the end ain’t no more and it was an adjustment I’ve had to overcome. Finding my voice in this music has been my way to cope with the changes around me. I love to get lost in the process of creating it blocks all the negativity out.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an independent artist/poet. I rap, I sing, I entertain. I am most proud of my latest visual Bandy. To produce such a high-quality video of my own resources means a lot to me. I scout my locations, I hire hair, makeup, wardrobe, etc. literally I created my own team and I’m so grateful for the people who see the vision and play a valuable part of executing it on behalf of me. It’s truly honoring. What sets me apart from others is my down-to-earth personality and my ambition. I’m never to good to do anything and I would never ask someone to do something I wouldn’t do myself. My music in itself speaks to who I am and how I represent all women. I am all for one and one for all, I’m just the people’s champ lol.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
God. Without him, I am nothing. I believe god blesses me tremendously, which is why I am able to dedicate my life and being a blessing to others.
