Inspiring Conversations with Santoria Lee of The Home of Microlocs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Santoria Lee.

Santoria Lee

Santoria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always had a passion of doing hair. I knew as a little girl that I would grow up in the hair industry. I’ve been doing hair for others since I was a young girl and it followed me into adulthood. There is so much love in being in the beauty/hair industry simply from making others feel beautiful, the increase in confidence and self-love, and building relationships with clients. Transferring into adulthood is when entrepreneurship was heavily on my heart. I felt it in my heart and soul that it’s the route I am meant to take. I tried multiple of other things along the way and let’s just say none of it worked out and I felt very unaligned. My current chapter now is I’m a Microlocs specialist located in Augusta, Georgia. I began my Microlocs platform The Home of Microlocs in 2020 during the pandemic. I had no clue how things would work out starting a business during the pandemic, but I had FAITH and major CONFIDENCE that anything I set my mind to, I WILL accomplish. The first couple of months were HARD. Hard financially and mentally. I even thought about giving up. A week after me having a conversation about giving up, God stepped in and blew my mind! An Instagram video of one of my clients Microlocs Journey, went viral and my books got filled DRASTICALLY. From that day forward, I’m blessed to say that I have truly been booked and busy with my platform The Home of Microlocs servicing World-Wide clients.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship has not been a smooth road but it has been worth it, I would say. I’m very passionate about entrepreneurship and business in general, so even when there are rocky roads, I know how to adapt pretty easily and keep it pushing. It’s a must to have that mentality in entrepreneurship because every month won’t be good. There will be some highs, and there will be some lows – but you must stay positive, keep pushing forward, and show up for your business every single day. If you would ask any of my friends today, “What is it that Tori do the most?” The answer from them all would be “Doing something for her business.” As an entrepreneur, I’m always thinking of ways to become a better businesswoman.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Home of Microlocs?
The Home of Microlocs is a salon based located in Augusta, Georgia. I specialize in twist microlocs, braid microlocs, traditional locs, palm rolling, and interlocking. My advice to anyone interested in starting a loc journey is to embrace every stage of your loc journey & to not compare your hair to others. No set of locs are the same. My top priorities with my client’s hair is proper foundation, neatness, and healthy hair. I’m most proud to service worldwide clients in my business. It truly warms my heart that people travel from all over the world to get serviced by me. I had a vision for my brand, The Home of Microlocs all along but God truly did exceed my expectations.

What matters most to you?
At this current chapter of my life, what matters the most to me is simply living a fulfilled life. In every aspect; spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, and in business.
