Conversations with Danielle Erskine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Erskine.

Danielle Erskine

Hi Danielle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been somewhat of a “creative”! My family often jokes about when my boys were younger and were assigned art projects, I was always the one to dive in! Their projects were my projects! Ever since I can remember, I’ve enjoyed arts and crafts. Give me a glue gun and I was happy! The creative side of me blossomed with my love of flowers! I’ve always had love for everything floral. From the various looks, colors and scents to receiving or gifting them! Flowers make me happy and bring me so much joy. I wanted others to experience that same joy which is why my go-to gift was always fresh flowers. In the past, I would order fresh floral arrangements from online delivery sites. The arrangements pictured on these sites were beautiful. However, the arrangements that were actually delivered to the recipients sadly looked nothing like what was pictured. After several of these less than satisfactory experiences (not to mention the no-shows), I decided to begin creating my own! In the years prior to my official launch, I’d create floral arrangements, bouquets and floral boxes as gifts for family and friends. Soon I started receiving paid requests for my creations! This demand led my passion to develop into a business, and Boutique Fresh and Faux was officially launched in 2021.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Unfortunately, the road wasn’t so smooth. In January 2022 – only three months after my official launch – I tore my Achilles in a playoff tennis match. At the time, I literally had floral subscriptions and orders to fill/deliver. I brainstormed how I could pull my resources together to continue styling florals but as much as I wanted to, this injury was a hard stop for my business. The road to recovery was long and grueling at times. I missed all the excitement of playing with flowers. But I also missed the calm and therapeutic piece of creating and styling florals. I worried about what effect this would have on my new business and if I would be able to retain my client base. After nearly a year of healing and physical therapy, I was back on my feet (literally) again and excited to return to the world of florals! Got to give a Huge Thank You to my loyal clients that made my return a success!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Boutique Fresh and Faux was birthed from my passion of creating, styling florals and bringing a smile to the faces of my clients. Seeing their reaction to my work is ultimately what drives me and just brings me so much joy! At Bff, we provide your fresh and faux floral arrangements for everyday enjoyment. To include arrangements, bouquets and floral boxes. We also provide florals for proms, intimate “boutique” events as well as bridal/bridal party bouquets. Our Floral Subscriptions are a client favorite for our Bff’s who enjoy fresh florals on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. We’re most proud of the trust our clients have in our style, vision and execution. Although collaborating with our clients to bring their vision to life is always an option, the majority of our work has been trusted with “Designer’s Choice”, giving us full creative reign! Boutique fresh and faux is small, woman-owned and operated…..we strive to overly exceed customer expectations, pouring so much love into each and every creation!

What was your favorite childhood memory?
I’d have to say my favorite childhood memory is actually one that I speak of often-Traveling with my family. To this day, my cousins and I reminisce about all the fun we had traveling together with our families and how it’s so important to us to do the same with our children!
