In my formative years, I nurtured aspirations of becoming a professional athlete, particularly a skilled ball player. But life took an unexpected turn when I found myself pregnant at the tender age of 15. This pivotal juncture compelled me to reevaluate the trajectory of my life. The dream of excelling in basketball had to be set aside as I embraced the weighty responsibilities of motherhood, steadfast in my determination to be the sole maternal figure in my child’s life.
Shifting gears, I embarked on a new path aimed at a career in nursing, fueled by the allure of a scholarship. Yet, the journey through college introduced yet another twist in my path. A second pregnancy prompted me to recalibrate my priorities, focusing on the imperative of financial stability.
With a heavy heart, I faced the difficult choice of leaving my studies and stepping into the workforce, shouldering the demands of two jobs – one at a hotel and the other at a warehouse. These experiences exposed me to diverse viewpoints, unveiling the latent power of my personal narrative. This realization ignited a fresh sense of purpose within me – an ardent desire to share my story and kindle inspiration by spotlighting the strength and resilience intrinsic to my journey.
Continuing my educational pursuits, I embarked on online college courses, attaining an associate’s degree in business and subsequently a bachelor’s degree in human resource management, all while raising my second child. Armed with these qualifications, I transitioned into the realm of entertainment, commencing at a bowling alley and later at a family fun entertainment center.
These experiences reaffirmed my passion for connecting with people and sowing the seeds of joy. Beyond that, they bestowed upon me a platform to instigate change within my community. As I ventured into management roles, I confronted the disheartening reality of subtle racial discrimination. In response, I firmly asserted my identity as a Black woman, challenging biased assumptions and resolutely countering prejudices.
These efforts reverberated profoundly, gradually eroding preconceived notions and biases. I took immense pride in showcasing that the Black community is a wellspring of dedicated and dependable professionals. Over time, this shift in perspective resulted in tangible transformation within the organization, breaking open doors that had long remained shut to Black employees, transcending conventional roles.
This transformation I contributed to serves as a testament to my unwavering belief in the power of positive change through unwavering endeavor. Fueled by the promise of further transformation, I am steadfast in my dedication to the ongoing journey of growth and empowerment.
With meticulous planning and an unyielding resolve, I charted a path for my future. When the opportune moment emerged, I seized it with fervor, embarking on a journey that demanded relentless effort and unshakeable determination. This odyssey led me to harmonize my career with my passions and collaborate with a team that resonated with me.
Although I have not yet reached my ultimate destination, the progress I’ve achieved stands as a testament to my evolution. This chapter marks a significant milestone, yet I’m acutely aware that it’s merely the prologue of a grander narrative. I recognize that attaining my loftier goals necessitates another decade of unswerving dedication.

The journey has been marked by numerous hurdles, beginning with my childhood. Our family struggled with limited resources, and while my parents did their best, they too faced their own challenges. The early curveball of becoming a parent while I was still a child myself posed a significant bump in the road. Yet, rather than allowing this to become an excuse, I embraced my child as a blessing and pressed forward with unwavering determination.
As the years unfolded, the challenges persisted, intertwining with the complexities of family dynamics and the juggling act of multiple responsibilities. Growing my own family, with not one but two children, further amplified my drive. Witnessing their growth, I was resolute in my desire to be a guiding example. Even after I temporarily left school, I made the unconventional choice to return to online education. This decision was rooted in my aspiration to show my children that relentless pursuit could overcome any obstacle.
Balancing school, a full-time job and the responsibilities of motherhood proved to be its own challenge. Remarkably, I managed to navigate this intricate dance with apparent ease, a feat often acknowledged by those around me. My ability to make it appear effortless was borne from a deep understanding of my origins and an unyielding desire to shield my children from the hardships I had faced. The jobs I took weren’t just about income; they were about proving my worth and showing that progress was attainable.
Unfortunately, despite my efforts, the corporate ladder often seemed out of reach. I would strive to demonstrate my capabilities, only to be hindered by forces beyond my control. My refusal to remain stagnant led me to take audacious risks, walking away from situations where my potential was underestimated. It wasn’t until my tenure at my last job, after a decade of grappling, that I had an awakening. The allure of a substantial salary and the responsibility I felt towards others clouded my judgment. However, the realization dawned that my happiness and personal aspirations must take precedence over financial comfort.
Though I was already involved with 2HotRadio for a year, leaving a $75k salary was daunting. The skepticism I faced was understandable, yet I knew I had to prioritize my own fulfillment. Despite not yet regaining that level of income, I wake up every day with a sense of contentment, for I am now pursuing my passion. This experience has taught me that struggles are transient, and my dedication will eventually bear fruit. I am resolute in my commitment to relentlessly pursue every ambition that lies ahead.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I begin by reflecting on what sets me apart from the crowd. As I had the opportunity to express on TampaMystic’s show, my unique essence shines through my personality. I firmly believe that my character and the person I am have acted as keys to unlocking countless doors. I’ve always recognized that my energy is palpable, something that’s difficult to ignore. Acknowledging this truth, I’ve understood that my charisma can attract attention due to its authenticity. I’ve also been aware that my open embrace of my sexuality might draw specific attention. With these considerations, I often questioned how my actions would impact those close to me—my partner and my children. Yet, upon reflection, I realized that they could indeed benefit from my journey.
It was clear that I was not pretending to be someone I wasn’t or engaging in anything morally questionable. I yearned to express my true self, not to hide behind a facade. While I did have moments where I lost myself, by the time I reached 26, I reconnected with my core identity and a newfound love for myself. This revelation marked a turning point where my life started to ascend to new heights.
In 2012, I laid down the foundations for my aspirations by devising a game plan to create a show centered around conversations with individuals who could inspire and motivate others. I dipped my toes in the water by working on a radio show named MOB Radio, allowing me to explore my ambitions and refine my vision. It was during this period that I realized my calling extended beyond merely being on the radio; I yearned to facilitate the sharing of stories. This led me to establish “From The Bottom To The Top,” my very own show, which provided a platform for me to do precisely what I set out to achieve—inspiring and motivating others.
A serendipitous encounter with Don P, an executive at 2HotRadio, marked a pivotal moment. Though initially hesitant, Don P eventually saw my persistence as an indicator of my determination and gave me a chance. This encounter set the stage for my ongoing journey. Through Don P, I was introduced to DJ Outlet, who offered me the opportunity to step into the role of an on-air personality on 2HotRadio’s “What’s Real Wednesdays.” This journey has evolved, leading me to my current role as Operations Manager, where I contribute to the growth of the business and inspire people on multiple levels.
This endeavor allows me to authentically be myself while also encompassing the full spectrum of my business aspirations. As for my specialization, I’m not confined to a single skill. I am a firm believer that with determination, I can excel in any field I set my mind to. My identity is rooted in versatility and adaptability.
What truly distinguishes me, however, is the magnetism of my personality, the enduring spirit I embody, and the unique vibe that emanates from me. These qualities act as a magnet, drawing people towards me and keeping conversations about me alive. But the pinnacle of my pride lies in the fact that I am paid to be myself, all the while weaving my own journey and the stories of others into a tapestry that inspires and motivates.
