Today we’d like to introduce you to Trivon Thompson.
Hi Trivon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story starts back in 2011, just after the Affordable Healthcare Act went into effect. I was a new life/health insurance agent with three kids, just trying to make it when that devastated my income and consequently led us to look for employment elsewhere. Long story short, my best friend invited me to apply for a retail job. He stated how well they paid and that everything included benefits. I jumped on the opportunity to provide for my family and lay a solid foundation for us. Then, for the second time in a decade, I read the book Rich Dad Poor Dad. This book opened my eyes to an unlimited amount of possibilities in the world. Along with the book Mindset, I set off to find my one thing. I started investing in real estate then in 2020, I decided to take a leap of faith and jumped readily into real estate sales. I haven’t looked back since and have been enjoying the journey along the way.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road; then again, it isn’t supposed to be. Those that look for life to bring them comforts are soon disappointed by life itself. I’d rather carve my own path rather than await what life has in store for me.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a REALTOR®. I began my career specializing in real estate investments and grew to mainly consumer/client-based residential and commercial real estate. I’m best known as the CrossFittin’ REALTOR®. I chose the name to blend both my passions and stand out in an already packed arena. I set myself apart from others based on my communication, finding by buyer’s & seller’s “why”, and setting expectations early on in the process so that my clients know what to expect and when. I dedicate myself to my craft in the same way I dedicate myself to my fitness. I’m most proud of where and how I’ve come along in the business. I was never one to settle for mediocrity but in real estate, there is so much of that; it gives the industry a bad name.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
To name a few, Rich Dad Poor Dad, Mindset, Richest Man in Babylon, The 48 Law of Power, Atomic Habits, and Atlas Shrugged are some of my favorite books.
The Joe Rogan Podcast, Jordan Peterson Podcast, Ed Myles Show, Diary of a CEO, PBD Podcast, Huberman Lab, and London Real are some of my favorite podcasts.
