Inspiring Conversations with Tanya Graham of Life Maid Easy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanya Graham.

Tanya Graham

Hi Tanya, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Tanya Ratcliff Graham. I started my business, Life Maid Easy, Inc., in December of 2017. I had been cleaning professionally at that time for a year and a half and realized that my side job was turning into a real business. I began with six clients and currently have a team of maids and service over 80 households and 20 business locations. I chose to do this as a career because of the flexibility with my schedule and because I enjoy working in a positive environment and making a real impact by making people’s lives easier. Since that date, my business and my team have continued to grow!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest challenge I faced on my entrepreneurship journey was COVID-19. I pushed forward by adapting (with extreme caution) to the residential and commercial clients’ needs. One specific need was more frequent cleanings for new and current commercial clients. I increased the staff by advertising on social media. That required much more training time and the purchase of an additional company vehicle. All while providing safety and flexibility for the employees.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Our philosophy is to provide quality service while attending to each specific client’s preferences. At Life Maid Easy, we set the standard very high. I begin by scheduling an in-home consultation with the prospective client. I take detailed notes of each individual home or business. Then, we schedule an initial cleaning, where a crew and I clean everything at that specific location. Then, the maintenance cleanings follow. The people that I work with are trained by me to maintain the things we did on the initial cleaning. I can tailor the service to fit the needs of any client. If there are any client concerns, I address them with the employee immediately. And update the client notes accordingly. I also follow up with the client after the cleaning.

What matters most to you? Why?
Being born and raised in Astoria, IL I have always wanted to impact my community. I do this by providing a flexible schedule for mothers who know how important it is to put children first. I provide their transportation to and from each individual destination. I added a senior cleaning service at a discount because I noticed a need. I sponsor the local high school cheerleading squad and work with our high school’s afternoon work program for senior students. I volunteered at our local library’s summer youth reading program. I am the only business of this kind within 40-50 miles of our town.
