Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivanna Rodriguez.
Ivanna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve been on social media since 2013 doing it ALL; Influencing and Content Creating! It all started off with the iconic 7-second video app that’s no longer available called Vine. I knew I always wanted to make videos and creating content was always so fun to me! I’d gone viral a couple of times on Vine and realized how much I enjoyed entertaining people. Once Vine ended, I knew to take my creation to other platforms. I began to build my platform on Instagram and before TikTok was TikTok, it was Musically. I’ve always had a great eye when it comes to fashion, putting dope looks together that others always seemed to admire! That’s what I was always known for, being fly! That’s actually how I came up with my name on social media name “Spanishfly”. Atlanta is how I built my brand so it only seemed right to add it to my name. As time flew by, not even realizing I was influencing women on Instagram by posting my looks and style before “Influencing” was really a thing. I always knew women resonated with my style and they’d compliment me. However, I had a great following on Instagram, just thinking it was normal but as time passed I think about it and say to myself, “Wow, I’ve really been in the influencing game for a minute”.
When COVID hit Tiktok was a huge trend, so I hopped back on it when they rebranded their app from Musically. Jumping on the trendy dances, to being my authentic self, giving them looks, and how I dress, my audience grew larger and larger by the day! With TikTok being so popular in today’s times, I knew I wanted to network with other creators around the Atlanta area. My partner, as of today Trinidad Crown, and I started to do ‘TikTok Meetups’ monthly around the Atlanta area. Each and every month, we grew our meet-ups into larger crowds. We plan to grow this further in the near future. Throwing networking events to get connected to way more creators just like us that love this as much as we do. The joy that I truly get from creating content and influencing women makes me want to share my style and personality even more and grow a brand around my influence. Especially, as a plus-size woman influencing other women that look like me to feel good about themselves makes me feel like I did what I was supposed to do. I’ve realized as all this time has passed I truly know what I want to do with my life and that’s being a YouTuber. My YouTube channel as of today is at 328 subscribers! I do mainly Fashion Hauls, but also getting into challenges and vlogging. I see myself and my brand growing through YouTube, a space where I can be my authentic self and show all sides of my brand!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
At some point, you feel like you have to compete with so many talented creators! The challenge of it all for me was getting in my head on how I should stand out from everyone else. It becomes smooth once you get out of your head and realize not everyone is you. So just create that content and POST that content!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m known for creating content and influencing women to look fly. From taking pictures in my hottest fits to doing fashion hauls and GRWM (Get Ready With Me) videos on social media to aspire women to look good. What sets me aside from everyone else is my bubbly enthusiastic personality that everyone loves to watch! I’m proud of the growth and hard work I put into creating content.
What makes you happy?
A lot of things make me happy, I show so much gratitude to the things and people that are in my life. I would sit here and write for days if I was to list everything that makes me happy, but if I had to say something, I would say what makes me happy is being around a great support system. With that being said if that’s family, friends, or if you even have a significant other. That makes me feel so grateful and has me on a natural high all the time. It’s one thing being at your highest and of course everyone will congratulate you but when you have days when you feel like you’re not doing enough, those people that are going to encourage you and speak life into you? Those are the people you always want around and because of those people that make you feel good, makes me happy.
