Meet Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pasadena.

Pasadena

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The six of us have played in bands around Atlanta for a long time. We started Pasadena when our primary songwriter, Matt Wells, had some songs that he wanted to bring to life. We released a collection of demos called “Message in the Wreckage” which was released digitally through MP3’s and e-mail at first and made available on streaming in 2019.

In early 2020, the band began writing songs for a full-length album, “Let This Be A Lesson To Your Leader.”

The album recording was delayed by the Pandemic and scheduling conflicts, causing the album to take a longer time in production, but was released on September 29, 2023 in its entirety.

“It’s an album full of songs we believe in, and we are super proud of the end product.” Says singer Carson Ray.

The hard work has paid off, with the album being praised by listeners and fellow songwriters. Keep an eye out as Pasadena continues to capture audiences everywhere with this new release.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As previously mentioned, the pandemic slowed production of the new record and also scheduling conflicts as we all hold successful careers outside of the band. These delays allowed us to really craft these songs into the final versions of what they are.

“We couldn’t have made this record five years ago. We are better musicians now and a better unit. The extra time really elevated the final recording,” said Mike Fogleman.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Pasadena is a song-focused Americana Country band. Our songs are for people who enjoy the songwriting craft and enjoy the experience of immersing themselves in music. Self-described as “Sad songs that sound great any time of day.” Pasadena touches on heartbreak, self-doubt, and life in general in their songs, showing human nature and the bond we all share as we work through our setbacks.

What sets Pasadena apart is the way they connect with our audience through hook-laden songs and live performances. As a result, the band headlines an annual Atlanta show every December with increasing audience attendance.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Being an independent band without the support of a record label or marketing team, we very much rely on the strength of social networks (both online and offline) to get the word out about our music. We’ve been very fortunate to have our social media posts shared, our songs added to playlists, and media outlets reaching out about covering our band. It’s because of our passionate fans that we’ve had the opportunity to open for artists like Jason Isbell and Joshua Ray Walker.
