Today we’d like to introduce you to Darius Chambers.
Darius, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started podcasting three years ago during the shutdown. Started on a friend’s podcast in April 2020 after my dad passed away. Then in July 2020, I started What The Shit Podcast then later that year launched Black Legacy Productions. I have interviewed music artists and podcasters. Music producers and business people. I enjoy what I do and have fun entertaining and spotlighting dope creators. I have done special episodes called King Ish and Queen Ish where we take a panel of men and a panel of women and have discussions and conversations.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s never been a smooth road just the podcast name alone was met with opposition and my hosting skills came into question at first. Then this year, I was forced to take a three-month break for the show and had an event fail that all almost made me wanna give up, but I have a pretty good support network that kept me going and knew how much I loved what I do.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am most proud of the dope people I’ve met doing podcasting and some of the networking I have been able to do. Proud I have a platform people like being on and feel they can be seen and heard as themselves. I think my crazy personality set me apart I like to have fun and don’t take myself too seriously that I’m missing the moment or outta touch with reality. I have learned so much since I started, made my own website and working on an app for the podcast, and trying to continue growing.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Going to Geauga Lake amusement park every 4th of July with family and spending the day having fun and running wild.
