Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Zimmerman.
Hi Victoria, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In early 2015 I was assisting my mother on weekends when she needed me. Unfortunately, at the time, her employee had quit unexpectedly, and she still needed renderings for a project done in a short turnaround time. I was new to the software but had an idea of how it worked as I had watched videos briefly on it from time to time and I was also an avid Sims player and found interest in building houses, designing, and creating different concepts. After a few days, I had completed her design concept in time for her to present it to the client. At the time, with little to no knowledge of scale, design, or structural engineering the design came out very well and ended up being a huge stepping block to future projects.
Over the remainder of that year, I spent my free time learning the software more, continuing to assist my mother in other projects, and by 2018 I had my first client aside from my mother, Frank and Co. As my business grew, so did my experience and I started understanding that this career path could and would be something great. In 2020, I established Visualize, LLC and I became an official business owner at the age of 21.
Since 2021, I have now over 20 consistent clients nationally and internationally and have now opened the door into the virtual design world as well as in-person interior and exterior design services. It is exciting to see how much growth the business has made over the years, and it has inspired me to keep pursuing my pathway even harder than before. 2023 was a huge year for Visualize as we took on our first new build and largest project to date. The Christian Lane Build is an 8,000 Sq/Ft home located in northern Texas. We have been working diligently with the architect and builder to create a one-of-a-kind custom home for our amazing clients. This will surely be a jaw-dropping design and we are very grateful to have this opportunity to turn our client’s vision into reality. Not to mention we have recently started an online store for our clients and followers to purchase unique pieces from our best vendors.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a business owner is certainly the road less traveled which does not make for a smooth sailing pathway. The ugly truth to entrepreneurship is that you are working several jobs at once. While you may not have to work a normal 9-5 you certainly have to make up for those hours at other times. Especially when you are having to also be your business’s assistant, accountant, social media manager, designer, and customer service. I am always told that “it must be nice that I get to be anywhere I want whenever I want” but that also comes with having to give up weekends when my friends and family are out enjoying their time.
Another aspect that many people do not think about is, you are your own boss. Meaning that if you don’t work or cannot find clients you do not get paid. Which even in most sales jobs for other companies you are being paid a salary to accommodate those weeks or months without commission. There are very successful months and there are months where you are barely working. It does get better though as you learn the way of the system and how to budget and prepare for slow months. The first five years are the hardest.
All in all, I always find a way to keep going and that hard work and determination has paid off.

My daughter is the true meaning of what it means to be happy. She exemplifies all of the good in the world in one small human being and that is my true motivation and happiness in what I continue to do. My family means everything to me and the better I can be in my life the better I can be for them.
