The idea of creating jewelry never crossed my mind initially. It emerged during a period when I deeply felt the necessity for something personal. My professional journey spans 21 years in healthcare as a CNA/Care Tech, where I take immense pride in supporting others during challenging moments. Being there for people is a calling I’ve always felt, even considering joining the military in high school. Reflecting on my life now, while I cherish my work, I recognize the need for a change. After much contemplation and prayer, I sought divine guidance to lead me toward a path where I could carve out a name for myself. That’s when MiUnique found its place.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Certainly! Absolutely! Shifting your mindset from working in a hospital environment, where you operate under the guidance of others, to establishing your own business is quite challenging. It involves the arduous task of devising strategies to sustain interest in your product. Regardless of the nature of your company, understanding the needs of the external world is crucial. Engage in dialogue, inquire about others’ interests, and identify aspects that resonate with consumers. Without communication, you’ll remain unaware of the elements that can attract a crowd.

MiUnique stands out as a bespoke beaded company dedicated to crafting personalized jewelry concepts. In establishing this brand, my primary goal is to convey to clients that I am attentive to their design preferences. Whether it’s a specific beaded jewelry piece or a combination of elements they envision, I want them to understand that I am actively listening to their needs and investing my best efforts to bring their creations to life. While my focus is on specializing in leather bracelets, that will unfold in due course. What distinguishes me is not only the creation of my own designs for purchase but also the provision of custom-made pieces for others. We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Certainly! I believe, to some extent, taking the risk of shifting my focus to MiUnique and reducing my hours at the hospital is a positive step. I’ve transitioned from full-time to part-time employment, and while it may be considered a risk, I view it as a worthwhile one. This adjustment allows me to wholeheartedly concentrate on achieving the goals I have set for my company.
