Today we’d like to introduce you to Maisarah Burke.

Maisarah Burke

Hi Maisarah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a Georgia State University graduate. I have been a freelance artist and graphic designer for three years. I have been drawing and painting since I was a kid and have been pursuing it seriously since high school. I started selling my art after Covid.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Covid was a struggle and a breakthrough. It was a tough time to graduate, but it also gave me the time and motivation to make art, and once we could be in person again, I dove straight into selling my art at festivals.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am most known for my macabre paintings of nature and animals. I work with many mediums, including watercolor, ink, gouache, acrylic, and oil. I also love to do character design and have helped bring people’s stories to life.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I also do pet portraits.
