I fell in love with everything related to weddings when I planned my first wedding 17 years ago.
I enjoyed the process of learning how to plan and organize the logistics of such an event and from there, I started organizing events at my church and eventually founded my own event planning business. At that time, I didn’t have a niche, nor did I know what made me different from other event planners. I simply knew that I loved planning events.
I organized various events like church socials, open mics, and music showcases, and worked as a coordinator for a venue, but I felt like I was just scratching the surface of what I wanted to do. It finally dawned on me when I married my current wife what sets me apart from other planners.
I celebrate the uniqueness of my clients and love to help them plan and coordinate their special day in a way that reflects their individuality. My goal is to create a personalized experience for each client, not just another run-of-the-mill event that you see on social media.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth journey at all. When I started in the industry, same-sex marriage was not legal. So, I planned commitment ceremonies as weddings.
Finding inclusive vendors was almost impossible back then. I think being able to navigate those obstacles while making sure my clients feel seen and respected is what makes me the incredible planner I am.

We have onsite pop-up elopements in conjunction with the award-winning wedding minister, “The Modern Officiant”.
In the case of our Pop-Up Elopements, you simply pop up at our location to get married! Just the two of you or up to 10 of your nearest and dearest! We are so excited to finally be able to offer this service to our clients! Our Pop-Up Elopements are similar to courthouse weddings but offer a more private, personable, and intimate experience.
Elopements are fun, easy, and affordable – perfect for a quick ceremony with a few loved ones. Just pop up with your marriage license and get married! Come dressed to impress or as you are. No need to bring any decorations as the area is tastefully decorated to provide a beautiful backdrop for your pop-up nuptials. We have taken care of all of the details for you!
