Today we’d like to introduce you to Queen Rahmaya.
Hi Queen, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Queen Rahmaya, I am a music artist, entrepreneur, and public figure in North Carolina. At the age of fourteen, my musical inclination started with rapping. I used a beat on my computer to start with a rhythm of what I was going to say.
I was currently in middle school at the time when I started rapping different songs in the classroom to my peers. My interest in cosmetics and beauty began when I started going to beauty school after I graduated from high school. That was when I began to develop my cosmetics line “Queen Rahmaya Beauty” in 2021.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There were multiple challenges I had to face in my life including bullying at school, facing an identity crisis, and mental health challenges.
The bullying began when I was fourteen until I was nineteen. The people around me misunderstood me in multiple ways including the way I dressed, how I always isolated myself from others, and how bold my creativity and personality were for everyone. That trauma created an identity crisis I had faced in my adulthood. “Am I too much?” “I don’t fit in anywhere” “Should I change myself?” “Am I Queen Rahmaya?”
In the year 2020, I began noticing the people that I trusted and loved began to show their true colors toward me. I had when through betrayals, envy, anger, and detachment. That was the year when the world stopped, but that year created Queen Rahmaya as a whole! The trials and tribulations that I have experienced in my life never stopped me.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a music artist that had just released a new album called, “PYNK REIGN.” Pynk Reign was released on February 2nd on all streaming platforms. That album has a mixture of R&B and Hip-Hop all in one. It touches on my relationships, being unapologetic and just learning to have fun in this lifetime. The hit song from Pynk Reign was “Keep Going” which was previously released as a single on January 18th.
I am also the owner of “Queen Rahmaya Beauty” which was launched in February of 2021. This makeup line touches on the Alternative community who has a bold personality like myself but can’t truly express themselves to the world due to bullying, harassment, and being outcasted in society.
My makeup brand has a story that deserves to be heard and known through cosmetic products.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
You have to be authentic to yourself because if you don’t, you will become a puppet to the world.
