Today we’d like to introduce you to Hayley Bookhammer.
Hi Hayley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been artistic, but I could never find a good creative outlet for myself. I had a dream one night that I was a photographer and I woke up the next morning, went online, and bought my first camera.
It started as taking photographs of my friends and family and very quickly turned into a career for me. This has been the most fun and rewarding “job” I have ever had. I am so blessed and thankful for all of my clients who put their trust in me to help preserve all of their precious memories.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been many challenges that I have faced, especially being a newer photographer with a lot of competition in my small town. I use the competition as a way to push myself to work harder, learn more, and do better. I am juggling being a mom, a fiancé, and a successful businesswoman and always trying to find a good balance.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a photographer and own HayleyB Photography, LLC. I specialize in weddings, couples, lifestyle newborns, & maternity. I love to travel all over to be there for the most important parts of my client’s lives. I am so proud of how far my business has come in such a short period and I know that it will continue to flourish.
I’m not just your photographer, I am your best friend! I focus less on “posed” images, but more on capturing the real you. I will tell you jokes, play with your children, fix your hair and hold your dress.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the COVID-19 crisis?
I think I will always be more careful about putting myself in uncomfortable situations. I think the lockdown made me less likely to go out and be around large groups of people and to think more about my overall health.
