Today we’d like to introduce you to Mila Pearson.
Hi Mila, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began doing nails at the age of 17. At the time, I was a young girl who wasn’t satisfied with the service I was receiving and wanted a way to make money while also being creative. However, I didn’t take nails seriously until I began college in 2022. The rest is history.
I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. I can’t remember ever promoting my craft throughout my freshman year of college, but my peers would see me doing nails, and that small interaction turned them into clients. With consistency, I quickly developed skills that take most people double the time. Once I began to get down to the timing aspect of completing an acrylic nail set, I fell in love with nail art.
I truly love creating articulate pictures on what I call my “mini canvases.” Bringing my client’s visions to reality brings me so much joy and I can’t wait to see where my gift will take me in the years to come.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This journey has been challenging. With every new thing, you have to experience trial and error. I quickly learned that, as a service provider, there is a slow season. If the relationship has not been built, some clients can’t or won’t return, regardless of how good your service is.
In addition, I learned that business is slower in my hometown, Detroit, Michigan, than in Atlanta. Now that I understand how things work, I know what is needed to keep attracting clientele, and I am constantly improving my technique and marketing skills every day.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a nail technician specializing in nail enhancements using acrylic nail powder. I am most known for my elaborate nail art and freestyle sets.
What sets me apart from others and what I am also most proud of is my relationship with my clients. I constantly ask those who support me what they want to see and how I can do better, and I implement these requests how I see fit.
Alright, so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
