Daily Inspiration: Meet Reckless Richiee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reckless Richiee. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Reckless Richiee

RecklessRichiee is an up-and-coming Artist out of Atlanta, GA. He is known for his unique mixture of his deep, melodic, old-school voice with a mixture of new and unique trap beats. Currently an independent artist, RecklessRichiee is consistently creating and releasing new music.

Being the son of famous rapper I-20 of Ludacris’ Disturbing Tha Peace and the eldest brother to Destroy Lonely of Playboi Carti’s Opium Label, the talent of RecklessRichiee is visible with a bright music career ahead. There are not many visuals out of the artist as of yet, but he is going to soon take over the streaming world as he continues to release music that catches the attention of many fans of likewise Artist.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been smooth and is still a little bumpy. I struggle mainly with the thought of being famous, which holds me back from reaching my full potential. I know lyrical; I’ve got it. The image, I’ve got it. Everything else except accepting that life won’t be “normal” anymore is in the bag. I’m watching closely how this life affected my father and now affects my brother; it is everything I could ever dream of.

I’m more open to the idea because of little bro’s success, so I’m taking the necessary steps to complete the task. Now it’s just a game of making sure I’m fulfilling the want of the audience but also dropping music that I can come back to later and go, “That boy said what? Run that back.” I’m very particular about what I drop and hold back, which makes it even harder to decide what to shoot a video, too.

This causes me to have way more songs than visuals, which is another thing holding me back. Over time, I’ve channeled in with my inner self, and now I know for sure this is what I want, all I ever wanted, and won’t a thing, any shape, fashion, or form, stand in the way of me receiving it.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an artist, not a rapper. If you close your eyes & listen to the words I’m saying, your mind will paint a picture of a scenario you either went through in your life or one you may have just barred witness to.

I’m known for my versatility, and I mean versatility, because I am an artist who can hop on an alternative rap beat, country beat, trap beat, or jazz beat and own it because of my years of practicing who I wanted to be as an artist, to the point I’m comfortable with who I am, and it’s natural rather than forced.

I’m most proud of who I am today, through every trial and tribulation I stood tall, chin up, chest high and now I can do what makes me happy. What sets me apart from many other artists is that I would rather be at home than on the scene. It’s just my nature. It’s my comfort zone.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Definitely have to shout out my mother first. She believes in me the most and has never let me forget it since day one.

I want to shout out my boys, my brothers, BZ & TALABANTAY, because when I’m off my game, they make sure I get back in line and vice versa, but they also believe in my craft . It’s not just a scenario of “my boy rap so I’m gone act like I listen”. The boys make me feel like I’m the key to the treasure box-type of support. My family keeps me whole. My little brother Lone for giving me a game where I slack.

My daughter Amiyah, thank you for keeping me whole as a person by just being you. My nephew Raylan for looking up to me like I’m Superman reminding me I can do this. My sisters, Arriel & Kim, for being my best friends. My grandfather & grandmothers for teaching me how to take this stroll through life. Pops for teaching me cadences and how to study beats. And lastly, for being true to yourself no matter who or what the obstacle was & wish you nothing but success.
