Community Highlights: Meet Roz Zollinger of Heal Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roz Zollinger. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Roz Zollinger

Roz Zollinger, Reflexologist, Aromatherapist, Instructor, and Director/owner of the Heal Center, is known nationally and internationally for her work and instruction in Reflexology, Aromatherapy, and Energy Healing.

Although Roz did not grow up with much spirituality in her childhood home, she did have an innate sense of the spiritual. An only child living in South Africa, she spent ample time alone in her room, which helped her develop a deeper awareness through avid reading and visualization. Roz developed meditative skills at a young age, enabling her to delve into the workings of her spirit.

Roz’s healing abilities and practice emerged from her search for self and desire to promote her health. In her late teens and early twenties, she began to study nutrition and more natural and healthful ways of nourishing the body. Her interests extended into studying the human psyche, ultimately leading to her interest in healing, body/mind, and spirit. Her healing journey was, and remains, a manifestation of her life’s journey. Wanting deeply to connect with people led her to pursue the field of touch therapies.

In 1984, Roz was certified by the South African Institute of Reflexology and studied aromatherapy with the Institute of Clinical Aromatherapy in London. She holds Energy Healing and Esoteric Studies certifications through the Australian School of Esoteric Sciences. She has pursued advanced studies in all these modalities and continues to do so.

Since living in Atlanta for the past 35 years, Roz has pioneered the concept of “Aromatic Reflexology,” which combines the work on the feet/hands with essential oils to enhance the benefits received. This work initiated her growing “AromaBlends” line using therapeutic-grade organic essential oils. She has helped hundreds of clients maintain better health. Roz developed the unique Zollinger “BodySystems Method of Reflexology/Aromatherapy,” which is the basis of her teaching.

Roz is launching her new and professional Reflexology program via: “The Zollinger Institute of Professional Reflexology, and her school will soon be accredited by the Education Department in Georgia.

Roz’s work involves teaching certification classes at the Heal Center and some of the well-known massage schools in Atlanta. She offers training at various locations of a well-known spa in Atlanta. Apart from her work with individual clients, Roz is committed to her teaching and hopes to expand her school and the “BodySystems Method of Reflexology/Aromatherapy” concept nationwide.

She already has teachers in Japan and frequently travels to the UK to teach her popular method. She truly works from her spirit. Roz and her son, Michael Zollinger, are co-owners of the Heal Center. Michael joined the Heal Center after completing his massage program, and apart from offering therapeutic massage, he also directs operations and organizes the Wellness Clinic and Classes.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have learned a lot, especially after coming to the US and opening the Heal Center LLC 33 years ago! With very little business experience, I learned on the job. My work evolved a lot, and because I understand that we never know everything I continue to study and offer shorter workshops as well. My passion is working with my clients with Reflexology, which has also evolved, taking my field of Reflexology and Aromatherapy into a very professional arena.

I have struggled over the years, especially during various financial issues in the country and during COVID-19, but I have persevered and held my intention and faith in what I do. Having the center has been an awesome journey, sometimes scary and most times wonderful. The center has grown tremendously with Michael, my son, and I am very proud of who we are.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about Heal Center LLC?
As a healing facility (Wellness Clinic) we have very high standards for the practitioners we work with. Most therapists (and there are more than 13 at a time) are highly skilled and experienced and work humbly and for the good of humanity. They are very committed in their fields of expertise. Practitioners work independently with the Heal Center as their home base.

What is unique and different is that when I opened the center, it was first opened to allow for larger and more professional classes in my field of expertise. It has become very well known both nationally and internationally for the different classes that take place. So yes, I opened it through my work and passion and wanted to bring together a group of professionals to help the “whole person.”

I also developed my line of “AromaBlends” through my reflexology program and offered essential oil blends for the body systems and other more emotional and spiritual blends. These blends are based on former clients as well as teaching so that students, even if they don’t go on to study Aromatherapy, will understand how they work and what they do for the client (and themselves).

Most of all, The Heal Center has the philosophy of love, kindness, and respect for all.

What matters most to you?
What matters to me the most is helping my clients to go within and also helping them take their lives from illness back to health. I love seeing clients and my students evolve to find inner peace and find themselves. I work on the premise that we are all children of the Universe, and I use my mothering instincts (after raising two wonderful sons) as a gift for my work.

At the center, we all work and teach with no judgment, hatefulness, or competition. We all have a role to play in this world, and should always be unconditional and full of integrity. As a teacher, I once saw a quote: “You are not just a teacher, you are an inspirer,” and that spoke to me.

It is very important to everyone here to respect unconditionally whoever walks in, to the clinic or the school. We offer our work with love.
