Today we’d like to introduce you to Emani Scaife.
Hi Emani, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Emani Scaife, I’m a makeup artist from Buffalo NY, but I recently relocated to Atlanta GA, to seek new opportunities. I picked up my first brush seven years ago after graduating from esthetician school. I actually started wearing makeup in college, after I was introduced to it by one of my classmates. She came into class looking bomb (real cute) and I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was…but I knew I liked it! After class I asked her “Did you do something different?” she replied “I did my eyebrows!” I was so confused and asked her “What did you do to them? Can you do mine?” She did my brows! I was so amazed, I did not want to wipe them off! I had a brow pencil, cover girl foundation and a pack of Q-Tips in the mirror every day trying to mimic what she did. After many failed attempts I finally got it! I didn’t know anything else about makeup so I only wore brows. People would constantly ask me “Who does your eyebrows?” This is where I got my Instagram name @whodoeshereyebrows which transitioned into me doing makeup full time and now having my own brand. I truly believe God has brought me through this journey and has my entire life planned out, I’m excited to see what he has in store next for me.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In the realm of makeup artistry, my job extends far beyond just applying cosmetics. It’s about being a pillar of strength and reliability for my clients, even when I’m facing personal struggles. Whether it’s a joyous occasion like a wedding or a time-sensitive shoot, I’m committed to delivering excellence, regardless of the circumstances. In this competitive industry, maintaining a high standard is essential, as each client’s experience with me is a reflection of my dedication to their satisfaction.
As an entrepreneur, I anticipated challenges, but nothing prepared me for the emotional toll of losing four family members since relocating to Atlanta. Navigating through grief while maintaining a thriving business has been a test of resilience. Despite the setbacks and moments of doubt, I’ve learned to lean into my vision and trust God’s process for my plan. With perseverance and self-belief, I emerge stronger and more determined to fulfill my purpose, ensuring that every client I serve embarks on a journey of self-celebration and empowerment during what I affectionately term “girl therapy sessions.”
