Today we’d like to introduce you to TY-44.
Hi TY-44, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started out just like any other artist. Musically, I started off working on my sound with my producers RTillery and TK. We would track out song after song; until we made songs that people gravitated to. As a model, I started off a little over a year ago working with small streetwear brands.
Today, I’m referred to as a brand ambassador or social media influencer. I work with high-quality brands promoting their pieces to my audience. Currently, I’ve collaborated with over 30 brands from all over the country.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been many challenges in my profession. Some include a lack of understanding from those around you, I’ve lost a lot of people close to me just due to the fact that our paths don’t align. Another challenge is balancing a personal life. It’s difficult at times to cut off my mind when it’s in work mode. At times I could prioritize more of the social or personal things that come up in my life
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My name is TY-44, and I’m known for being signed to the Upstate Sound music label out of Tennessee. My fans are to thank for my most popular songs: Gretzky (produced by TK) and Didn’t Kno (produced by Rtillery). My sound is described as atmospheric and spacey. If I had to give it a name… I’d call it a “Love space trap”.
Outside of that, others know me for the modeling work that I do with various brands and designers. They help supply me with amazing pieces to model at my shows and events, and my own content for my social media platform. The accomplishment that’s made me the most proud would definitely be my latest album gaining over half a million streams. I’ve never had a project reach that many ears, so it feels really good to have that result.
How do you think about luck?
I’m not someone who is stashing lucky charms. I try my personal best to be the best person I can be, but that has more to do with my individual morals than my career. However, my efforts to be as good as I can have had positive effects on my career. Especially since my career is so heavily reliant on connections. Best to gather allies than a field of enemies.
