Life & Work with Jariana Mari

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jariana Mari.

Jariana Mari

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story started not too long ago. I always knew what I liked to do and I always knew what made me happy. I have always been a fan of music, film art, photography, and writing. I dream of writing a book and one day directing a film. I am very shy and sometimes very nervous about showing the world the way I view life.

But I realized that I could maybe help and inspire others who are stuck. I always try to tell myself that it is okay to not be certain about what you want to do with your life, but you have to do SOMETHING. No matter how big or how small. One day I will look back at all of my achievements and I will be so proud of how far I came. And that is what pushes me to keep going.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been easy. I deal with self-procrastination a lot. I also struggle with generalized anxiety disorder. Sometimes the thought of oversharing can get the best of me and it sometimes forces me to overthink about lot of things. But I think about how much time I spent into talking myself through the process.

Telling myself to just deep breathe. Also, being someone who doesn’t look for that green light from anyone else. Because only I can determine what makes me happy. So, quite frankly, the road has not been smooth. But I imagine a smooth road would be fairly boring to ride on.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I model. I write. I am a photographer. I love to see the small things and turn them into something meaningful and something beautiful. A lot of times we tend to take for granted the little things and overlook them. I would say that I am known for having a sensitive build, a soft personality, and a bright smile. I am most proud of picking up a pencil at the age of 13 and writing poems and songs that I still remember word for word 6 years down the line.

I am also proud of investing in my camera and using it to capture gentle, natural, and beautiful moments. I think what sets me apart from others is my ability to recognize that nothing in life has to be perfect. Being perfect isn’t real. And when you are living in real life, you would see that close-up, there are cracks and scrapes in some of the prettiest buildings that we see from afar.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Being a 19-year-old girl trying to figure her way out in life is hard enough, but I am so grateful for the opportunity to spread my light and knowledge to others. It is always good to share the thoughts I have because it may inspire someone else.
