Today, we’d like to introduce you to Gary Johnson.
Hi Gary, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Atlanta from Houston a little after Hurricane Harvey. I was staying in hotels and the job I was working reduced hours which led me to being homeless. After a few months of homelessness, I went to the Gateway downtown Atlanta which sent me to the Evolution Homeless Shelter program. I was working 3 jobs a little before and after being placed. I had a foot injury which had me out of work for a week or so.
During that time I dove deep into myself and long story short ran across Atlanta School of Massage. When I went to do enrollment I actually “made a mistake” and went to Gwinnett College of Sandy Springs Massage School. Once enrolled I use the Evolution Homeless Shelter as a dorm housing while I finish school. I also was working at LA Fitness at the time. It was 1hr 30 min there and back using public transportation. It was rough but I graduated and became licensed.
I work multiple places after but COVID-19 shut down a lot of places. I moved to Miami while having my son. I worked for major resorts and for myself. I created my own clientele and had a steady flow in Miami. I moved back to Atlanta and gained some of my clients before leaving. Between 2021 to now I have been in Atlanta & Miami giving one of the best massage & healing to my clients.
Now I’m mobile looking for another location which I called the Sacred Space. I learned and constantly learned modalities to perform at the highest optimal level of skills & healing. I also perform sound healing etc… Also I have ventured into life coaching because it helps extend the massage/healing practice.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Neuromuscular/Massage Therapist. I give an alternative form of health. I specialize in medical-style massage. I’m known mostly for luxury-style massages but I mix in the medical style.
I’m most proud of helping people feel better with all the knowledge & skills I accumulated. I’m set apart by integrating many forms of healing into one. Also, provide the education and conversation to enlighten and help others through their difficult times outside of just massage.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I will say luck but mostly alignment and consciousness. Once that’s in place things will fall right in place at the right time.
