Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Nunez.

Hi Diana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My story began the day after I attempted to take my own life. My life felt shattered into a million pieces, my soul was completely lost, and I was in the worst place of my life. I remember waking up the next day wondering if I dreamt it all. It felt so surreal I couldn’t understand why I was still alive. I thought – there must be a reason why, I must have a purpose for still being here.

I then moved back home to GA for the support of family and close friends. I continued to struggle with depression and anxiety for months, but I constantly found refuge in fitness. I loved how it made me feel, before, during, and after. I saw changes occurring in my body, my mentality began to gradually change and all I wanted to do was better myself. I wanted to heal from so much trauma. I wanted to move forward and keep going.

As I continued with personal development and overall, my health and fitness journey, life was great…until it wasn’t. My whole department was laid off from Corporate America as we were headed into tough times and into a new year. I struggled with accepting this unfavorable position I was now in and soon fell into another deep depression.

Again, I found refuge in fitness. I began working casually in the fitness industry along with several other temporary jobs here and there using different skills I acquired throughout my life. It took me 1 year to force myself into different roles because I believed working in the fitness industry was not lucrative enough. However, my life kept bringing me back to fitness.

From spartan races and half marathons to bodybuilding competitions to friends reaching out and asking me to train them, to work with them, or to give them advice. I saw how much fitness impacted them throughout time. I saw their confidence rise, their stress levels go down, and they began living healthier lives with more sustainable habits.

They would constantly tell me how energized they felt, how their doctors were taking them off certain medications, or how happy they were compared to before starting their fitness journey. It was amazing watching another person go through that journey and seeing them thrive. It genuinely made me so happy for them because I remember the feeling when I realized how much fitness positively impacted my life. And that is why I created A Better You Fitness.

A Better You Fitness represents not just my triumph, but my passion for guiding others to realize their best selves. I created this program to help other women transform their lives through proven methods that dig deeper than the surface level. Because… Fitness is more than just looking good. True transformation requires a shift not just in body, but in mindset. Every day I am so grateful that I get to fulfill my purpose with my passion.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a young immigrant coming to another country, it wasn’t always easy. I grew up in very impoverished neighborhoods surrounded by gangs and drugs, I went to 10 different schools, and I never truly had stability in my life until I joined the military after high school.

The military had its own set of hurdles and adversity I had to face throughout my time. It’s been tough, but once I look back at everything that has occurred over time, I realize how blessed I am that it led me down the path I am currently on. I learned a lot along the way, and I recognized a pattern that when one door closes, the other opens because it always works out.
