Today, we’d like to introduce you to JaTarius Jarrett.
Hi JaTarius, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been into the performing arts since I was a kid. Still, in January 2013, I did a “remake” of Michael Jackson’s THRILLER, and it ended up getting seen by 106 & Park on BET Network at the time. I then decided to move to Atlanta from Mississippi. Once I moved to Atlanta, I was nervous because I didn’t know anyone, but I constantly researched and stumbled across extras calling for Barbershop 3.
I went and got selected, and then after that, I constantly looked for extra bookings for movies and shows. After doing that for a few years, I decided that I wanted to put my face out there more, and then that’s when I rebranded my Instagram page and started YOUTUBE. I started doing movie reviews, then moved to VLOGS, and now I do reaction videos, which seems to be the catch! I’m now trying to utilize social media to clothe the homeless and get more of my personality out there.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The ride was not as easy. Moving to a new city from a very small town is hard, especially when you don’t know anyone. All I had was my aunt, who was not as educated in the industry or how to start the process.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m proud that in 2024, I can say that I’ve made it in ATLANTA ten years!
I love that I stuck to my YouTube endeavor and rebranded my social media to match what I’m trying to put out to the public.
How do you define success?
My idea of success has changed over the past decade.
I used to define success with money and luxury, and although those can be nouns of success, now my definition of success is learning and trying something new that will teach me something about myself and teach me something about life.
