Hi, I’m Afia the Herbalist – founder of Afia’s Leaf. Afia’s Leaf’s mission is to re-educate the nation on the spiritual powers of plants and herbs. Our line of vegan herbal supplements and herbal-infused topical remedies are handcrafted and formulated by myself.
Afia’s Leaf began as an extension of my spiritual intuitions as a healer and provides a safe, inclusive space to achieve wellness goals holistically.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an Ecology major at the University of Georgia. I am interested in environmental justice, conservation, and learning ways to improve plant biodiversity.
I started my journey in web development and software engineering, but after a gap year spent in Latin America and Africa, I fell in love with nature.
My love for ancestral traditions and living close to nature is what fuels my brand of herbal remedies.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
In addition to being a business owner and a full-time UGA student, I am also a mommy to a busy 3-year-old girl! Many people are shocked to hear that I am able to balance so much.
