Today we’d like to introduce you to MsMek MHB. They and their team shared their story with us below.
Sheimeka Jones (MsMek) was born Aug 13, 1991, in Cincinnati, OH. MsMek is an Independent Rap Artist and upcoming Actress. As a teenager, MsMek loved to write poems, remix industry music, and freestyle. Having a rough lifestyle, writing music became a method she used to release tension and her true feelings. MsMek knew she was one of the few you considered a “Raw Spitter.” When MsMek was 18 she experienced the studio for the first time. Dropping songs and passing CDs around to her friends made her determined to make more music. In 2013, MsMek got her first exposure at “New Music Monday,” where a lot of the indie and local rappers went to perform in Covington, KY, which is affiliated with Cincinnati, OH. MsMek developed her fan base quickly. Having a unique voice, raw music, and confidence, people attracted to her like magnets. She started working on her first mixtape, “Gotta Get It,” in 2014, which then was released in March 2014. MsMek made it on one of the Top Female Projects in Cincinnati, “CINCINNATI FEMALE RIOT 2”, which brought her a lot of recognition from people all over her community. In 2015, MsMek dropped her First official Music Video Introducing one of her top hits, “Best Believe,” off the “Gotta Get It” mixtape. MsMek then started having interference with battles in life, which caused her to slow down and completely deactivate her music career. Overcoming obstacles and life situations, MsMek started back rapping. She performed at every event to the point the promoters were calling her to come out. On December 27, 2017, MsMek was nominated as Best UHMM FEMALE ARTIST presented by KING & QUEEN. KING & QUEEN is CEO of Underground HipHop Music Movement, who promoted and handled a lot of open mics in Cincinnati, OH. The night headed to the Award Ceremony, MsMek was in a fatal car accident on the highway. She suffered head, neck, and hand injuries. Being injured gave MsMek a lot of time to do online promotions. Coming across Brennan Pearl (BP) in 2018, who is Film Director- Author, he designed “The Hustle Tour,” where artists traveled and made money off their music. MsMek knew due to her injuries she could not physically perform and do shows. For a year and half, MsMek invested and travel with “The Hustle Tour,” selling her CDs and networking down south. Brennan Pearl was working on a movie and invited MsMek to expand her Rapping career by acting in his new movie. Putting together the new movie, MsMek and BP was networking in ATL. In 2019 MsMek had her first show at Knockouts Bar Lounge in College Park, GA, the people loved MsMek and brought her back down the month after her First show. MsMek Traveled a lot in 2019, going to different cities and states; OH, KY, SC, NC, and GA, promoting her music and performing. During the pandemic in 2020, MsMek moved to Snellville, GA, and brought the same energy and hustle she had prior to her move. In 2021, MsMek attended over 20 shows and concerts in ATL, where she passed out her single “In My Bag”. She also did street marketing all over the streets of ATL. MsMek received recognition immediately. MsMek connect with Nine9 who’s an agent to help her get more movie gigs, which she landed on “Step Up High Waters Season 3” where she was an extra but got paid her first movie check for almost $200. MsMek was featured in ACE MAGAZINE spring of 2021 edition and was a Nominee at ATL HIPHOP AWARDS 5th edition as “Female Rap Hustler Of The Year.” After only being in ATL for 8 months, but she did not win. MsMek continue to network and connect with the community. In 2022 MsMek was a nominee again at ATL HIPHOP AWARD 6th edition, where she was nominated as “Slept On Female Rapper Of The Year”, and actually won her first music award in Atlanta. Ending fourth Quarter in 2022, MsMek drop her Official Music Video to ” In My Bag” on 12/24/22, Christmas Eve. Her project is getting a lot of recognition and support. MsMek then connected with Game Changers Radio Station, an ATL INDIE RADIO STATION that brought her more fanbase and recognition and HB Radio (HartBreak Radio) an Independent Radio station with over 5 million listeners in Las Vegas, where she received recognition as well. MsMek then affiliated with Gold Mouth, an Independent movie and film director, where she was placed on his web series “Decatur Where it’s Greater,” which brought her. In 2023 MsMek then received a Nomination with HIPHOP FRATERNITY, Making it Big ATL, and Ugly Money for “The Nicki Minaj Award” and the Atlanta Hip-hop Awards for “Female Rap Hustler of the Year,” and she took both awards home. Later in 2023, she connected with another independent movie director Reality TV, where she is currently filming “Atlantas Ugly 2.0 and 2.1. Atlanta’s Ugly Film has connected her with Andree Harris Production, where they are currently filming a series called “Broken City the series.” Being an upcoming Rapper/ actress has open a lot of doors for MsMek. In February 2024 MsMek was placed on a New Reality Tv Show in Atlanta called “For The Love Of Radio,” produced by DjRo and 94.7 The Link Radio station that will Air on TV spring/summer of 2024. MsMek is currently pursuing Radio, Blogs, and Interviews to let everyone know who she is and where she came from. 😁 Money Hungry B🤫
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. I dealt with near-dearth experiences car accidents, an organ failure, hand broke and depression, lack of support, moving to a new state and city by myself no family no friends. Losing friends dealing with envy, jealous, and hateful family members. Being isolated lost my dog of 10 years emotional and physical trauma.

Dropping a New Project (Mixtape Spring 2024) will be featured in more films. Tour dates and expanding my fan base
