Daily Inspiration: Meet Kanisha Graham

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kanisha Graham.

Kanisha Graham

Hi Kanisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I’ve always been one to journal about life challenges, very rarely did I share my thoughts or goals with other people. When I was seeking a new career, I journaled about it; when I had difficulties with my job, I journaled about it; and when I was seeking my purpose in life, I journaled about it. During the pandemic, I found myself journaling more, and when I looked back through my journal, I realized I was actually praying and making my request known to God. During my quiet time with God, I was led to share my story with the world in the form of prayers. It’s an honor to say that I’m the proud author of “25 Prayers That Changed My Life.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t always been smooth because doubt would creep in and cause me to think negative thoughts. I can remember hearing things like “nobody is going to support you,” and to be honest, I started to believe that. So, I paused moving forward for a moment. One day I was seating in the kitchen, and I heard God say “man looks at the outward appearance, but I judge your heart. It was at that moment when I began to have peace and I felt confident to move forward with sharing my story because it was what God wanted me to do.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Registered Cardiovascular Sonographer and I specialize in the heart. I’m known for listening and providing encouraging words to my patients. I never know what my patients are going through, so when they enter my exam room, the atmosphere is peaceful. I’m most proud of being able to pay attention to the anatomy of the heart and know when to report urgent findings so that my patients can be diagnosed and treated properly within the proper time frame. Lately, I’ve been attending Career Day Events on my days off. It’s been a pleasure to share my career with the Elementary, Middle, and High School students. By sharing my career, it has provided High School students with an opportunity to shadow me for half a day. This opportunity gives them additional insight about my career…

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I like that our city offers many opportunities to grow and strive if you desire to do so. I don’t like the traffic in our city.
