Rising Stars: Meet Talanee Tillery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Talanee Tillery.

Hi Talanee, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
“I started dreaming about my future when I was just a little girl. I had many aspirations, such as becoming a model, owning a salon, a dancer, a singer, an author, and even the first female Olympic boxer. As I grew older, I realized that I could combine all my dreams into one career. Although there were some setbacks (I prefer to call them ‘setbacks’ instead of failures). Through trial and error, I became a certified master life coach, a board-certified metaphysician (an expert in the branch of philosophy dealing with abstract concepts such as being and knowing), a youth mentor, a stylist, a nail technician, a cosmetologist, mini dream doll house designer, clothing designer, and an author. Today, I am proud to have accomplished so much and to be living out my dreams.”

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path to my current success was not an easy one, mainly due to my own actions and lack of self-belief. During this journey, I faced several challenges, such as losing jobs, quitting projects multiple times due to lack of support, feeling uncertain about my direction, being homeless for a period of time, and struggling with depression. Additionally, I have also experienced being taken advantage of and overlooked. These are just a few of the obstacles I had to overcome.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a multi-talented individual with a range of skills and passions. I specialize in abstract portraits, designing miniature dream doll houses, natural hair, and nails. I am also a certified master life coach and Board-Certified Metaphysician.

My work is not just about creating beautiful things; it’s about exploring the depths of my own spirit and understanding the strength we all carry within. I bring a piece of my soul into everything I do, which sets me apart from others.

My ability to blend different artistic mediums is a way of reaching out and speaking in a language that’s uniquely mine yet universally understood. My work resonates with people from all walks of life, touching hearts and inviting minds to open.

I am most proud to have received my board certification in metaphysics becoming Dr. Talanee Tillery, and getting my non profit approved Rightfully Royal Inc. Through my work, I don’t just aim to leave a mark on the art world; I hope to inspire, heal, and empower. Every art piece, every style, every hairstyle I create carries a message of hope and strength.

My creations are more than just art; they’re milestones on a journey of self-discovery and resilience. I am not just an artist; I’m a beacon of inspiration, making a profound impact on my community.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Honoring oneself is the most rewarding and uplifting practice. It means holding oneself in high esteem, forgiving oneself, and respecting one’s body. It also involves creating values that one stands on and practicing the art of saying no. When one honors oneself, one honors their spiritual, mental, and physical needs. Therefore, honoring oneself is of utmost importance. It is a powerful practice that can lead to a fulfilling and purposeful life.
