Hi Indigo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
As a young student, I was captivated by the 4-H members’ exhibits at our local fair. Their passion and dedication to their projects intrigued me and inspired me to join a 4-H Youth Entrepreneurship Program. Through 4-H, I learned valuable life skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, goal setting, and resilience. Collaborating with my peers improved my ability to work well with others while setting ambitious goals for myself, which taught me to strive for excellence in all aspects of life. Despite setbacks, I learned to emerge more robust and more determined than ever. 4-H has been a transformative experience that has significantly shaped my character, skills, and outlook. My story can inspire others to pursue their passions with dedication and resilience.
The passing of my aunt was one of the most significant challenges in my life. However, the valuable life skills I learned through my participation in FBLA, such as resilience and emotional management, enabled me to endure and overcome this difficult time. Future Business Leaders of America helped ignite my passion for a better life, encouraging me to strive for financial independence and stability. I set high goals for myself, aiming to live in one of the wealthiest subdivisions in my state.
I am progressing towards achieving these goals through hard work and scientific methods. I embraced challenges with humility and an open mind, never compromising objective truth. Student Government Association taught me that excellence requires perseverance, passion, and a dedication to lifelong learning. Additionally, I learned the importance of community service, giving back to society, and being a responsible citizen. My journey transformed me into a scholar both academically and in life, which was not just a program but a blueprint for my life, shaping my values, skills, and purpose.
I started my own business, Smexccilashes, in 2020, the same year I graduated from high school. It’s been an excellent experience to enhance people’s beauty with my products and make them happy with my service. I’m proud to promote this essential skill whenever I market my business. In 2021, I also became a content creator for other popular brands. I’m studying at Georgia State University, working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology while holding an Associate’s degree in General Studies.
After I graduate next spring, I plan to pursue my dream of becoming a corporate law attorney by attending law school. Justice in our legal system has always been a passion of mine, and I’ve worked with various organizations on campus to help make a difference. I was president of Beyond Beauty, College Girls Rock marketing director, DREAM communications director, Infinite Modeling Appeal creative team member, and S.H.E at GSU representative during college. Through these experiences, I’ve gained valuable skills and knowledge that I’m excited to use to continue growing personally and professionally.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The passing of my auntie. Along with graduating during Covid.

As I embark on my journey to become a corporate law attorney with my private practice, I am determined to seek justice for the business industry while working within it. With a passion for entrepreneurship, I am also driven to open and operate my high-end lash salon that provides unparalleled services to its clients. My ultimate goal is to create a unique and luxurious experience for my customers, where they can indulge in exceptional services and enjoy a relaxing ambiance that transports them to a world of pampering and beauty.
